PowerQuery, the ultimate Excel analysis tool! 🔢
Challenge yourself with advanced skills that are relevant to your work.

Excel Power Query,
If you want to end it properly?

PowerQuery, a powerful data extraction tool supported by Excel! PowerQuery brings the "query" data extraction feature used in Microsoft Access to Excel. Simply put, it's a specialized data processing tool that sits somewhere between Nogada and VBA, capable of handling most data processing tasks .

Students who learned the basics of Power Query through the previous course , “Practical Excel for Real Workers - From Data Processing to Analysis,” have continued to send us requests to learn intermediate or higher-level Power Query skills.

What is Power Query?

Excel PowerQuery란?

Have you learned the basics of Power Query? Are you looking for advanced skills to use Power Query more effectively in your work? We've prepared a course for those who want to master intermediate Power Query skills . Learn advanced Power Query skills through a variety of practical examples!

Please check before taking the class!

  • This course is a continuation of the course "Practical Excel for Working Professionals - From Data Processing to Analysis." Please note that you must have studied the previous course before taking this course, or have completed the previous course's prerequisite course.

PowerQuery Advanced Course
Key Features!

The “Power Query Advanced” course
It consists of two parts.

1) Intermediate processing skills through the Power Query menu
2) Intermediate processing skills using M code

1 Intermediate processing skills through the Power Query menu

You can learn various skills necessary for data processing using the PowerQuery menu. Through six practical examples, you'll master various intermediate PowerQuery features .

Intermediate processing skills using 2 M codes

PowerQuery is a feature built with its own code called M-Code (M Language) . Let's practice with eight practical examples of M-Code to learn data processing skills.

In addition, we will look at the basic theory of M-chords so that you can use them well.

Expected Questions Q&A

Q. Do I have to take the previous Power Query Basic course beforehand?

Let me ask you a question.
First, can you give me at least two reasons why I should use PowerQuery instead of Excel functions and features?
Second, can you freely apply the file integration, sheet integration, and merge functions using PowerQuery to your work?
Third, did you know that when you load a query table into a worksheet, there is an option called 'Create Connection Only'?

If you can answer all three questions above, you can proceed directly to this course without any prior learning.

Q. How is this course different from the Power Query Basic course ?

First, this course covers M-Code (M Language).
Secondly, while the Basic course only covers simple example samples to learn basic concepts, this Advanced course covers example samples organized in a table format similar to actual practice.

Q. To learn M Code (M Language), do I need to learn the grammar like I would a programming language?

To be clear, I don't think that's necessary. If that were the case, Microsoft would have commercialized M-code as an independent programming language.

PowerQuery internally converts our input into M-code when the user clicks a menu and processes it. Since you can view this converted code in the Advanced Editor or Formula Bar, detailed processing can be done directly by making minor modifications to the already generated code. This lecture will teach you how to do this.

Based on what I learned in the instructor's previous lecture, I am applying Power Query well to my work. ^^ However, I was often embarrassed because unexpected errors occurred (such as changing column names), but through this lecture, I was able to increase the freedom of Power Query. In particular, the concept of parameters and the function of adding index columns in a table seem very useful. See you in the next lecture. ^^

Hello, Myeongdong-nim :D You finished it at the speed of light. Myeongdong-nim's great concentration and execution, I will learn from you too. Looking at what you said, You seem to be applying Power Query in the top few percent of power users in your field. I also hope that we can evolve together. Stay healthy~ Hope

I am taking this course after the basic course. It is really helpful in practice! I would like to see a Power Pivot course after the Power Query course.

The advanced course is also very helpful because it explains things in connection with practical work! I plan to listen to the basic course again~

The basic course has a lot of content, so it might be boring... But since you plan to repeat it, you're amazing. Thank you (✿◡‿◡)

It is difficult to learn how to use Power Query user-defined functions or parameters in free YouTube lectures. I used to only use the basic functions of Power Query, but I think it will be very helpful for my work after taking the Advanced course.

Thank you, fenought. In the field, handling complex data sets is often insufficient with Power Query alone. I think it would be good to try to automate the entire work with vba or python, or rpa tools. Fighting (∩^o^)⊃━☆
