Introduction to Practical Web Development: Learning by Doing in the AI Era

This is a process of utilizing AI coding tools without blindly trusting them, verifying results, understanding structures, and completing actual services. Instead of memorizing syntax, you will learn through project-based work, gaining experience from error resolution to deployment to build your portfolio. Even with no prior development experience, you can develop judgment skills through collaboration with AI and acquire a sense of practical teamwork.

What you will gain after the course

  • The ability to write accurate prompts and verify results when using AI coding tools

  • Understanding Frontend-Backend-Database Connection Structures and Error Debugging

  • Completion of a production-ready web service and portfolio creation

Course Introduction

Have you ever decided to start learning development, only to stop at the third week of a syntax lecture? You managed to follow along up to variables and loops, but you ended up quitting because the things you actually wanted to create didn't seem to connect with what you were learning. This is very common, and it's not your fault.

Things have changed now. As AI writes code on behalf of developers, the focus of the skills required has shifted. Competence is no longer measured by how fast you can type code, but by your ability to decide what to build, verify if the output is correct, and see the project through to completion.

This course trains those new skills over 12 weeks. In the first five lectures, you will learn how to properly prompt AI and verify the results. From lectures 6 to 8, you will directly build and connect the front-end, server, and database. In the final four lectures, you will go as far as resolving errors on your own, actually deploying the project, and organizing the final result into a portfolio.

By the time you finish this course, you will have a URL that others can access. That is the goal of this course.

Recommended for these people

- Those who have no development experience but are considering a career change

- Those who started self-studying but have experience getting stuck at the grammar/syntax stage

- Those who have received code from AI but cannot judge whether it is correct or not

- Those who have taken many courses but have never completed a project from start to finish

- Planning, marketing, and design professionals who frequently collaborate with developers and want to understand the structure.

What you will learn

- How to make accurate requests to AI and how to verify the results provided

- Creating functional web screens using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

- Concepts of servers and APIs, and how to connect screens with servers

- Database design and implementation of storage, retrieval, modification, and deletion

- How to read error messages, narrow down the cause, and solve problems on your own

- How to manage versions with Git and utilize code reviews

- How to deploy the created service and monitor its operational status

- How to organize completed projects into portfolios and resumes

Hello, I'm Frank.

I am an infrastructure engineer who has been wrestling with servers for over 20 years. Starting with Linux server operations, I am now in charge of the cloud infrastructure for a large-scale payment service. My daily life involves migrating from data centers to AWS, managing hundreds of instances, and tracing the causes of failures in the early hours of the morning.

The reason I created this course is simple.

I often received questions like these from those around me: "I managed to connect to the server, but I don't know what to do next." "There are so many instance types; which one should I choose?" These are the exact same points where I got stuck at first. However, when I looked for resources, I found that most of them were written for people who already knew what they were doing.

So I decided to create the course I wish I had when I first started learning.

My lectures are based on three principles.

First, I help you understand rather than memorize. Instead of just listing commands, I explain why we use them in the first place.

Second, I boldly omit unnecessary content. I do not increase the volume by including information that is useless to beginners right now.

Third, I also talk about what doesn't work. Instead of just listing the pros, I clearly point out cases where it might not be a good fit. For someone who has to make decisions in the field, that is more important.

If you feel a sense of "Ah, I should start from here" after listening to the lecture, then my goal has been achieved.

Please feel free to leave any questions you may have at any time.
