This Excel template is structured as follows.
※ Components of Break-Even Point Analysis
- Restructuring the income statement with fixed costs and variable costs
- Calculate contribution margin (ratio) by subtracting only variable costs from sales revenue
- Profit simulation based on revenue fluctuations
- Check revenue that achieves break-even point
- Check sales revenue that achieves target profit

Based on the company's income statement (or monthly expense/cost items and revenue), we divide costs into fixed and variable costs and derive a formula to predict profit based on revenue. Through this formula, we can determine what revenue amount is needed to reach the company's break-even point and how much revenue is required to achieve the desired profit.
It's not a difficult task. Even small and medium-sized businesses and self-employed individuals like restaurant owners can take a step closer to visible management by simply obtaining this formula. You need to see it to make decisions.
