This is a basic Photoshop course that even non-majors can easily learn. It is very helpful for design students in their 1st and 2nd year who need to quickly learn Photoshop tools, people who want to make extra money with Photoshop, people who want to start their own business, YouTube creators, and people who run blogs and Instagram! The beginning is half the battle, guys... Don't be afraid.
You can learn the basic functions of Photoshop step by step.
You can learn basic design knowledge, such as the difference between RGB and CMYK.
You can edit photos beautifully and even combine them.
Photoshop basics course that even non-majors can easily learn!
We feel fear and helplessness when learning something new. Especially if you are not a designer, there are not many people around you who can give you guidelines on how to learn. I think the first difficulty we face when learning Photoshop for the first time is “not knowing where to start.” I was like that too... As a working designer, I created this course because I wanted to be of some help to those who are just starting out.
The Photoshop lessons I make are available on my YouTube channel, but I also upload them for free on Inflearn. I think it's great for online learners because you can learn the progress of the lessons you're taking.
Getting started is half the battle, folks... I'll start from the basics and teach you slowly and easily, so don't be afraid. If you get stuck, feel free to ask questions! By the way, these are the videos I made when I first started YouTube and recording lectures like this, so the beginning has some awkward parts and poor microphone quality... But the important thing is the 'content', so let's quickly learn the key points.
This course uses Photoshop CC. If you use a different version, please note that there may be slight differences in functionality.
Since the lecture is conducted on Mac OS, Windows users can press Ctrl instead of Cmd and Alt instead of Option.
From understanding the basic interface to the difference between RGB and CMYK and understanding pixels and resolution, we've compiled everything you need to know to use Photoshop at a glance.
We will teach you how to freely adjust and correct images, starting with how to use selection tools such as the Marquee Tool, Lasso Tool, and Quick Selection Tool.
I'll tell you how to easily create a flower(?) in Photoshop, Nukkii.
We'll show you how to use compositing-related features such as blending modes and layer masks.
Q. Can non-majors learn it too?
A. Yes, this is a basic Photoshop course made for non-majors and beginners~! It's very easy.
Q. What can I do after completing the Photoshop Basics course?
A. You can edit your own photos or decorate your own blog, Instagram, YouTube channel art, etc. You can also do composites. And you can move on to practical Photoshop lessons~!
Q. If I learn Photoshop, will I be able to do design well?
A. Just as knowing how to hold a pencil doesn't mean you can draw well, the ability to use a tool called Photoshop is a tool to express your thoughts, and to do actual design, you need to study for a purpose. If you're not a designer, set a more detailed goal!
For example, if you set a goal of "I'm going to learn Photoshop to decorate YouTube channel art and video thumbnails," then you need to study accordingly. In addition to the standards for YouTube channel art and how to express the feeling you want to express, you need to study basic concepts such as color, typography, margins, and layout.
Q. What else do I need to learn after learning Photoshop?
A. If you have learned the basic Photoshop course to some extent, you can learn more advanced skills through the Photoshop practical course. Additionally, we recommend learning Illustrator.
After that, you can learn tools that fit your job or interest. For example, video designers - AfterEffects, Premiere, C4D, etc. / UI designers - Adobe XD, Sketch, Principal, InVision, etc. / Editorial designers - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
Q. What is the difference between Photoshop and Illustrator?
A. Basically, for bitmap (pixel)-based work such as photographic images, use Photoshop, and for vector-based work such as logos or banners that should not break when enlarged, use Illustrator.
With Photoshop, I mainly do photo retouching, compositing, graphic design, web design, and web banner design, and with Illustrator, I mainly do logos, business cards, banners, posters, and characters.
