Check out the Q&A ! 💬
Q. I don't know anything about VFX. Can I still listen?
It's possible! This course is designed for those who have absolutely no experience with effects. I'll cover everything from A to Z. If you find anything missing during the course, please leave a question in the [Community] section!
Q. What level of proficiency will I achieve after taking the course?
You'll acquire a very basic level of effects-based skills. As this is the most fundamental course, the curriculum focuses on solidifying the fundamentals of effects.
Q. What kind of jobs can I do if I learn VFX?
You can advance as an effects designer at a game company. You can also pursue related positions across the VFX industry, including film and animation.
Q. Can this be applied to Unity as well?
Unity isn't much different from Unreal Engine. Understanding the overall process allows you to create stunning effects, just like in Unreal Engine. However, learning Unreal Engine effects for the sake of learning Unity effects is the wrong approach. It's more helpful to learn with the mindset of understanding the overall VFX production process.
Q. There are many other graphic tools. Shouldn't I know all of them?
The more graphic tools you have at your disposal, the better. However, there's a world of difference between being able to just dabble in them and being able to apply them effectively. Mastering one tool is far more advantageous for employment than dabbling in a bunch of different tools.
Q. Is there anything I need to prepare before attending the lecture?
Please download Photoshop, Blender, and Unreal 5 Engine.
Q. I've been making some effects. Can I get some advice on the effects I've made?
Apply for [Mentoring]! You can receive feedback from me one-on-one or in a group setting. (Go to mentoring application)

Who is this course right for?

Anyone who wants to create simple effects to put in a game
First of all, the instructor teaches well. However, I thought that the instructor only implements the targeted effects for the expensive price. Because of the price, I expected more from the lecture content, and I wanted to hear a more detailed explanation of the system Unreal Niagara is made of, but that was not the case, so I was disappointed.
For those who are aiming for an effect career, it might feel like, "Why bother?" considering the lecture price while attending an academy, and for those who are thinking about becoming an effector, it seems okay to take a bite.
Conclusion: The instructor teaches well. However, I feel that the price is ridiculously expensive compared to the lecture content.
Even if you don't know anything about Unreal, Blender, Photoshop, or effects, this is a lecture that teaches you everything from the very beginning. You can learn Unreal + Blender + Photoshop at once for effect production, and I think it's a very informative lecture. There are often parts that are skipped due to video editing, but it's at a distance that you can follow along sufficiently. And if you post a question, the instructor will kindly answer it. Lastly, the instructor's voice is so pretty!!
I was looking for a lecture to listen to on creating basic effects and came across this one. Above all, there were almost no lectures based on Unreal 5, so I chose this lecture. Although the lecture content is not much, it was easy to understand even for beginners because it was explained step by step from the beginning, so I was able to follow along comfortably. I also want to try Houdini, so I will wait for the Lv4 lecture~~
