    I think it was a lecture that touched on the essence of negotiation, not just simple speaking skills. Negotiation is a long game, not a short one. We live within a huge game of negotiation, from important contracts inside and outside the company to even small agreements between family members. Even the immediate question and conclusion of 'Where should we go for our summer vacation?' among family members are all negotiating (persuading) situations. For humans to understand other humans, read their minds, and consider their needs to make others winners. And, 'smartly securing one's own share' - I believe that is the essence of negotiation.
