I personally feel that the value of this lecture is more than 1 million won. I am sure that the content taught here is a must-take lecture for anyone aiming to become a digital circuit design engineer. The lecture content is very difficult, so it is very, very difficult to understand at first, but if you watch the lecture 3 or 4 times and analyze the provided code for several hours, you will feel that not only your RTL coding skills but also your understanding of semiconductor architecture is gradually increasing. If you want to see the architecture of the chip that is actually released as a product from a different perspective than you have seen so far, I highly recommend listening to this. (DMA was so hard to understand at first that I felt like I only looked at the code for dozens of hours..)

I was able to write a course review while listening to the lecture, so I came to write while listening. I work on the RF physical layer, and I happened to come across Xilinx's RFSoC. It has an embedded high-speed ADC that doesn't require PCB routing, PL, and CPU all in one chip... I couldn't help but use it. However, the AXI4-Stream interface between the ADC and PL and the AXI4 bus between the PL and PS were the entry barriers. Since I can barely do Verilog and don't have much experience in semiconductors, I didn't know where to learn, so I studied the concepts while going around blogs, but I didn't feel like I had enough to write code. I was halfway giving up, thinking I had no choice but to head to the bare ground by reading the official documentation, but didn't you think that Mr. Mabbin gave me exactly what I was looking for in Season 2? Therefore, I will bow a hundred times to Mr. Mabbin. Thank you very much.

Hello, I am an electronic engineering student who has been listening to Verilog HDL season 1 and is about to graduate. As sunchoi mentioned below, I think this lecture is worth 1 million won or more. (I think it is a value that undergraduate students cannot judge...) I often hear that AMBA AXI is very important at school, but I think it is limited to cover it within the given class time. However, I was able to grow by designing I/F through the lecture and seeing the process of uploading it to an actual FPGA. I think that a lecture costing more than 300,000 won would be a burden to students. If you take the lecture, you will think that this lecture is the minimum amount of money you need to prepare for the lecture. I highly recommend it. If undergraduate students take this lecture, I personally think that it would be better to take the two subjects of Verilog grammar and microprocessor. I always take care of my health and I look forward to the next lecture. Thank you.

What you will gain after the course

Real-world Verilog HDL taught by a non-memory design engineer:
Complete mastery of AMBA AXI4!

AMBA that memory design professionals
must know

Hello! This is Matbi from Design Self-Study.
This lecture, continuing from Season 1, covers AMBA(Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture), which design/verification/system architects must know.

I have included know-how gained from direct experience while working on AMBA-related designs in the field.

The practice code we'll be providing to you students exceeds 10,000 lines.

We promise a lecture quality unique to Design Self-Study that no one else can imitate.

This is not a beginner's course!

This course targets the knowledge level of 4-8 years of experience in non-memory design.

I highly recommend this course for the following people.

  • [[STRONG_1]]1️⃣[[/STRONG_2]] Those who are interested in design and have the [[STRONG_2]]will to excel[[/STRONG_2]] (most important)
  • 2️⃣Semiconductor field master's and doctoral students
  • [[STRONG_1]]3️⃣[[/STRONG_2]] [[STRONG_2]]Design professionals[[/STRONG_2]] who want to experience AMBA

Dreaming of becoming a non-memory design expert? Self-study design roadmap

If you take this course, you will acquire
proper skills in non-memory design.

  • Non-memory design engineers can gain the fundamental knowledge and design confidence they need to possess.
  • You can learn the essential knowledge needed in real-world practice.
  • If you master this, you can acquire design knowledge equivalent to that of engineers with 4-8 years of experience.
  • You can design and verify your own HW IP.
  • We will actively utilize this knowledge in the various project lectures of the Design Self-Study Taste Ratio that will follow.

Why Self-Study Design Courses Are Differentiated 📌

Don't learn half-heartedly!
We deliver the know-how of industry professionals as is.

I am a working professional in design. I created this course after personally designing everything myself. This is different from courses that only cover superficial knowledge with pretentious know-it-all attitudes.

Don't learn half-heartedly. We will definitely deliver the knowledge you truly need for real design engineering practice.

Because every minute and second of your time is precious,
all classes are directly edited by Seolgyedokhak.

Does the video runtime feel shorter compared to other courses? We don't include unnecessary time in our lectures such as tool runtime, break time during explanations, or awkward jokes.

You can learn with a much more substantial and comprehensive pace compared to other courses when mastering all the theory and practical code I provide.

All the content you need to study
so you can practice sufficiently.

High-quality Verilog HDL practice code designed directly by industry professionals

  • AXI4-Lite / AXI4-Stream / AXI4-Standard
  • It covers all the theory and practice created directly by Matbi.
  • FPGA synthesis is possible.

AXI VIP environment that can only be used in the field

  • Experience the powerful AXI VIP environment firsthand.
  • We use the verified free simulation tool Vivado Xsim.
  • I confirmed it works by uploading it to the FPGA.
  • The project files that were used are also provided.

If you become a non-memory design engineer in Korea 💪

Korea is a powerhouse in memory semiconductors. It is not a powerhouse in non-memory semiconductors. Therefore, the government and companies are making significant investments, and there are several design companies as well. Try searching for the "Verilog HDL" keyword on job sites. Many companies around the world are looking for semiconductor design engineers. Is there a company you want to work for? Search for that company's salary.

Non-memory design related companies correspond to the top 1% of average salaries among domestic companies. It's a profession where you need to study as much as you earn, and it's not an easy path, but it's work with solid prospects waiting ahead.

See you in the field 🖐

Thank you sincerely for reading this far.
I am confident that you will all become excellent design engineers.

The choice is yours.
I look forward to meeting you all in the field.
Thank you. From Matbi.

Everything is great, but it feels lacking to try to do a testbench without knowing SV. I wish you would also show it with a regular testbench in Vivado..!!

Thank you for leaving your feedback, miro11. This course focuses on explaining the AXI structure and actual design flow, so some parts proceed with the assumption of an SV-based testbench. This was a direction chosen based on the nature of the course, so I hope you'll keep that in mind while taking it. If you focus on understanding the operation and structure of AXI itself, I believe the remaining content will also be helpful. Happy learning.

fosiel9510, thank you for your course review. When you first encounter AXI4, the structure can feel complex, but if you focused on 'the process of gaining hands-on understanding of operational flow' rather than theory in Season 2, you're learning it properly. Although you're only at 30%, you're at the point where the flow is starting to come together, so if you complete it to the end, interface design will become much clearer and more organized for you. Enjoy your studies!

Congratulations on completing the course, Sanghyeok! Season 2 is structurally quite challenging in terms of difficulty, so thank you very much for following through to the end. The experience of directly designing the AXI4 protocol will serve as a strong foundation for any project you work on in the future. I hope we can continue to grow together in the next phase.

jhpark7, thank you for taking the course. Although we're still in the early stages, the core of Season 2 will become increasingly clear. I've structured it so that the essential flow of AXI4 architecture connects well with actual design approaches, so if you follow along steadily to the end, you'll definitely grasp the big picture. I'm cheering you on for a consistent completion!

Thank you, Taehyung Kim, for leaving a course review. You've already completed nearly half of the course. If you continue following along step by step as you have been, the flow and structure of AMBA AXI4 will become much clearer to you. I look forward to completing the entire course together with you.
