Because of the nature of my job, I use SQL every day, so I wasn't sure if there would be anything particularly new. However, I was impressed by how this short course managed to cover not only the basics but also topics like subqueries and transactions—which can be explained quite complexly depending on the person—in a concise way that hits all the key points. Even though the course was very affordable and didn't require a huge time commitment, I felt it was a rewarding experience because it packed in all the essential elements of SQL. The occasional insights from a practical, real-world perspective also made it a great experience. Thank you.

I've been working as a junior data engineer and have been receiving a lot of help from your lectures to improve my lacking areas. Currently, there are no lectures on Inflearn about multidimensional modeling (dimensions, measures) architecture. I'm curious if you're planning to include this content in the advanced SQL course in the future. While searching for a book called "The Data Warehouse Toolkit," I noticed some similarities with your lecture "Data Architecture Essentials You Must Know for Promotion." I'm wondering if this lecture can help me understand the overall structure of OLAP.

I learned a lot.
SQL Fundamentals
Data Querying & Filtering
JOIN & Relational Data Modeling
Aggregation & Grouping
Transaction & ACID Principles
This is a practical, hands-on course designed to help those new to SQL enter the world of data as quickly and easily as possible.
Through core syntax like SELECT, JOIN, and GROUP BY, you'll learn the ability to query, connect, and summarize data,
which is an essential skill for all data-driven roles including data analysis, backend development, and data engineering.
📘 When you learn SQL
✅ You'll start to see how data is structured
✅ You develop a 'mindset' for solving problems with data
✅ The quality of decision-making in actual work will improve.
This course is structured around intuitive examples and hands-on practice rather than difficult theory,
so even beginners can follow along comfortably and build SQL fundamentals that can be used immediately in real work.
#SQL #Data Engineering #DBMS/RDBMS
Filter out only the information you need cleanly with SELECT, and freely combine multiple tables with JOIN. You'll develop the 'power to read data' that makes even complex data visible at a glance. 🚀
The ability to extract only the data you need
From number summaries to finding data patterns, you'll develop a real-world sense of GROUP BY that's actually used in practice. Made an update mistake? Don't worry~ We'll equip you with a 'rollback button' using transactions. You'll get a feel for handling data, and your practical skills will automatically level up. 🚀💡
'Real-world' query sense
SQL, start it right from now!
The hands-on exercises in this course are conducted mostly through web-based SQL execution environments or local DB installations, and can be used without any issues on any of the OS listed below.
Windows 10 or later
macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
Linux / Ubuntu 20.04 or higher
Minimum Requirements
CPU: Intel i3 / AMD equivalent or Apple M1
Memory: 4GB or more
Storage: 2GB free space
Graphics card: Integrated graphics is sufficient
In other words, if you have a typical laptop purchased within the last 5-7 years, you can complete all exercises without any issues.
All presentation materials are provided in PDF format.
All query examples needed for learning can be downloaded from the resource section.
It's okay if you're new to SQL.
This course is designed so that complete beginners can understand it, so you can follow along even without programming experience.
In this course, you'll be using PostgreSQL in a Docker environment.
If Docker is still unfamiliar to you, don't worry! 😊
I have a free Docker course available, so if you need it, feel free to check it out and you'll be able to follow along in no time. 👉 https://inf.run/KkNw9
Apache Superset is an open-source BI tool that pulls scattered data together and creates charts and dashboards with just a few clicks.
You can visualize data right away even without knowing code, and if needed, you can dive deeper by running queries directly in SQL Lab.
The dashboards you create can be shared immediately and permissions managed cleanly,
so no more "Can you export this to Excel again?" 🙅♂️
Learning Superset takes you
👉 from someone who views data
👉 to someone who explains with data—leveling you up 📊✨
Dashboards you can use right away at work,
charts that communicate clearly in meetings,
and the power to make data speak for itself.
If you're wondering what comes after SQL, the answer is Superset 🚀

Hello Taegyeong Hong, Thank you so much for listening to the course so attentively and taking the time to leave your questions. The concepts of Dimension/Measure-centered multidimensional modeling that you mentioned will be covered in the upcoming 'Advanced SQL' course. However, rather than focusing on theoretical explanations, the Advanced SQL course is planned to be structured around the SQL patterns that data engineers encounter most frequently in real-world work. It will cover from a practical perspective how to implement Fact/Dimension structures in actual queries, which queries are performance-advantageous, and which designs create bottlenecks. Regarding your question about the relationship between "Data Architecture Essentials You Must Know for Promotion" and "The Data Warehouse Toolkit," there are certainly similar aspects. However, rather than being limited to specific OLAP modeling techniques, the course focuses on the most fundamental principles you must know when designing and building data pipelines. It covers not only OLAP but also the differences and roles between OLTP and OLAP, and is structured to help you understand the background and context of why such structures and designs are necessary. I believe that through the "Data Architecture Essentials You Must Know for Promotion" course, you'll be able to understand data warehouse-related books and design documents much more easily in the future.

Hello Seungho Lee, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and in-depth review. I created this course with the goal of effectively delivering the core essentials of SQL within a short amount of time, and I am delighted to hear that my intention was well-received. It is especially rewarding to know that you found clarity in areas that can be conceptually confusing, such as subqueries and transactions. As you mentioned, this course focuses more on accurately understanding the core concepts that can be applied immediately in practice, rather than simply "knowing a lot." If it served as a helpful summary even for someone who already uses SQL frequently, that in itself is very meaningful. I hope this continues to be of even a small help to you in handling SQL more quickly and accurately in your professional work. Thank you once again for the great review!
