Hello. I'm Newtudy, a UX/UI designer. I've been teaching UX portfolios while working as a senior designer at a design agency. Meeting with many students, both undergraduates and those transitioning from a UX major, I've learned a lot about the challenges of starting out in UX and the concerns surrounding portfolio creation.

"I've heard UX and UI are the new trends, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get started. Even watching Brunch or YouTube, it's hard to follow along..."

I think I've had similar concerns. Even those who've already attended academies or worked on assignments at school often struggled to apply the knowledge to their own topics. And those who were already working and preparing for a career change often gave up midway due to time constraints.

If you look at portfolio reference sites, you'll always see something called a "persona." Many students assume they should include it in their portfolios because everyone else has. This mistake stems from a lack of understanding of the purpose of this methodology.
