Master design using Rhino 🎨

A course for 'real' product modeling 🖥️

This lecture is a more advanced course than Part.1, and I've structured it to be both fun and substantial. You can learn the essential core competencies and skills that you must have for industrial design, product design, and package design using Rhino in Part.2.

Part 2 covers more detailed product modeling and surface modeling techniques than Part 1. Additionally, you'll learn useful tips to improve Rhino's efficiency, solutions to Rhino's chronic problem of R-value failures (Fillet, FilletEdge) and their causes, perfect texture mapping, and mouse modeling.

'Now let's start real product modeling, shall we? Let's GOGO!'

Part. 2 'Essential Tips and Know-how' to Build Core Competencies

This course is designed to cover from beginners to intermediate levels, so it may be difficult for complete newcomers to approach. For newcomers and beginners, we recommend Part.1.
Rhino has been released up to Version 8, but this course is structured so you can learn with Rhino versions 5-8. In Part.3, which will be opened later, we plan to learn advanced surface modeling + advanced R-value correction processes.

What are your questions? 💬

"What is surface modeling technique?"

This is one of various modeling techniques that uses Surface to create smooth surfaces. It has a higher difficulty level than traditional modeling methods, making it often challenging to approach on your own. In this course, you will learn surface modeling techniques in detail.

"R value (Fillet, FilletEdge), it keeps failing every time - what should I do?"

One of Rhino's chronic problems is that R-values tend to break easily. This is also why projects often fail to be completed even after reaching the final stages of modeling. In this lecture, we provide detailed explanations about why R-values break and tutorial solutions.

"Can I listen to Part.2 directly without listening to Part.1?"

This course is structured in a way that connects Part 1 and Part 2. In Part 1, you'll learn techniques and principles that are just as important as those in Part 2. Since you'll learn about modeling errors and solutions, how to create smooth surfaces (G2), and the principles of tool functions, I recommend watching it first.

Here's what you'll learn 📚

1. Detailed Product Modeling and Surface Modeling Techniques

You'll learn more detailed product modeling than Part.1. We'll teach you efficient tips from how to draw curves, modeling composition, to methods for refining models.
Additionally, we plan to cover surface modeling techniques that are the core of curved surfaces, mouse modeling, and perfect methods for smoothly connecting surfaces. Surface modeling techniques can also be applied to mice, shoes, drones, cars, and more.

2. Various Modeling Techniques and Tutorials

Learn modeling techniques and tutorials you can apply right away! We'll teach you everything from how to use useful tool functions to how to use difficult tool functions. You can learn about exploding fillet edges, the order of inserting fillet edges, how to use network surfaces, how to easily modify surfaces, curve modeling techniques, practical R-value corrections, Y-shaped forms, and more.

3. Methods for Perfect Mapping!

Let me share an interesting fact with you. Texture mapping can be used not only in KeyShot, but also in Rhino! Try using texture mapping, which is easy to apply once you know the method. You can use perfect materials.

4.
No more frustrating online classes!

What are the disadvantages of online classes? These include inadequate feedback to students' questions, lectures that are difficult to understand and conducted by the instructor alone, poor course materials, and low completion rates. Unlike 2D, 3D has many aspects where progress becomes difficult when you get stuck in the middle. Don't hesitate to ask questions! I'll answer sincerely and kindly! This course provides detailed feedback on questions and explains difficult parts that are hard to understand. Additionally, we provide materials for all classes covered in the curriculum. Let's work together to increase our completion rate!

5. For students who have completed the entire course!

It must have been much more difficult compared to Part.1. You've worked hard! And it must have been really rewarding. But only if you do the additional videos too! From KeyShot to Photoshop post-processing, we provide all the videos shown below! Just by learning these videos, you'll be able to do intermediate-level rendering~! :-) We'll send additional video links to those who send course reviews or 80% completion certificates to the email address in Section 20 [Additional Videos] lecture.

Instructor Introduction ✒️

WHO?

Hello! I'm SOO who enjoys learning and sharing knowledge!

I've been working on weekdays and conducting Rhino and KeyShot classes on weekends for many years. Rather than focusing on the first class, as I welcomed the second, third... and tenth classes, I've been contemplating how to teach in an easier and more efficient way. I've incorporated all the trial and error experiences and know-how gained from teaching countless students directly into this online course.

While the course includes both easy and difficult parts, I've designed a systematic curriculum so that once you learn it, you can apply it. Additionally, I have gained expertise through conducting online·offline classes and receiving countless questions, allowing me to provide appropriate answers. I'll respond to your many questions kindly and thoroughly!

I've been teaching offline classes for 8 years now. Watching beginner students gradually improve their skills made me think, 'What a fun and rewarding job this is!' I was so grateful to those who understood the value of learning, shared it, and approached it with passion.

One of my biggest mottos is "to be someone who can give back twice or three times what I've received", and I aim to practice this through this class. Let's share our learning together! Thank you.

The Rhino program itself has many difficult parts, but each lecture provides detailed explanations, so I feel that conquering the difficult Rhino is definitely becoming easier. The Rhino program itself has limitations in producing professional-level content, but I think it will be very helpful when working because you have produced a lot of methods to solve those parts! First, at the beginning of the lecture, you go over the big picture of using Rhino and teach it in depth one by one, which is very helpful in developing the ability to apply it on your own later. When I took other lectures, it was really difficult to make what I learned my own, but I personally really liked the way that Professor Soo's lectures taught me to make what I learned my own~!

I partially watched Part 1 and am now taking Part 2 in earnest. It seems like there are a lot of good parts. I wanted to learn how to do detailed product modeling, so thank you for helping me learn that part well!! I paid for the KeyShot lecture together, and it's so good. I'll listen well and graduate well. Thank you!!
