It is not easy to talk about a business plan in a short 5 minutes. Even if you know the content elements that need to be included, it is difficult to organize them clearly. Introducing the 337 Framework, a standard narrative for business plans based on years of experience coaching startups.
How to Plan and Write a Narrative Business Plan
A standard storyboard consisting of three business plan components and seven chapters.
Attention those who want to write a startup business plan or proposal!
337 Framework provides a standard narrative for business plans. 📝
Startups usually present their business plans to investors and the general public in 5-10 minutes. Since the time is too short to talk about everything in an organized manner, we were busy listing the contents breathlessly. Sometimes, important contents were omitted. I summarized this as the lack of narrative resulting from simple listing . This is a problem that not only startups but also most planners commonly experience. The lack of narrative makes it difficult to gauge the flow, stem, and shape of the logic/story, which ultimately makes it difficult to understand the whole thing.
Unfortunately, I think the business plan formats and guidelines provided by startup support organizations have contributed to this phenomenon. Prospective entrepreneurs usually have the opportunity to have their first demo day by applying to competitions hosted by organizations, but the uniform table of contents of the application forms required at that time hinders the formation of unique narratives for each startup. Also, properly constructing a business model canvas was a separate issue from the business plan.
I thought it would be of real help to startups to provide a simple logic development template that could be presented in about 5 minutes, so I created it and named it the 337 Framework .
The 337 Framework is a standard template for writing simple, narrative business plans. It is for startups that need to present a lot of content in a short period of time in front of an audience that they have never seen before. After observing the pitching of numerous startups and the reactions of the audience, version 1.0 was born in 2018, and it was refined and simplified into version 3.0.
The core is the plot and the 7 internal components that lead to the business item-company-business . These are not just a simple checklist to fill in the content, but they basically have cause-and-effect relationships and context.

How to respond to questions and answers
1. In addition to the video lectures, a workbook (50 pages) in PDF format is provided that includes a template for summarizing the lecture key points and writing them yourself.
2. One of the things I struggled with while planning the lecture was the example. In order to more easily apply the theory to practice, I thought that a business plan example that faithfully contained the lecture theory was needed, and as a result, I created a virtual startup called LibTree. This virtual startup's 5-minute presentation video, along with the presentation slides, presentation script, and files containing the entire planning process are provided as reference materials, and this startup continues to appear as an example in the lecture.
