This is an event planning lecture.

When you first encounter 'game design,' it can feel difficult because it is so broad and abstract, leaving you unsure of where and how to begin. This lecture provides detailed guidance on three types of reverse design documents and one type of original design document (MMORPG Guild System Reverse Design, MMORPG Original Design - Bingo Event/Operation Tool Design, MORPG Quest Reverse Design, and MORPG Gathering System Reverse Design) and exactly how to write them in practice.

Since beginner planners starting out cannot obtain actual professional design documents (due to trade secrets and legal issues upon leakage), practicing by writing reverse design documents based on successful games already in service is a great way to improve skills early on. As you write reverse design documents, your document writing and system analysis skills will improve, which naturally leads to being able to write original design documents or improvement proposals.

Additionally, by teaching how to write event proposal-operation tool proposals (creative proposals), it provides insights into both events and operation tools, which are not covered in any other lectures. Quest planning is also an important part, and we provide a massive amount of quest Excel data tables along with the proposal to further enhance your understanding.

Student Concerns & Solutions

Because the market has not yet fully developed, it is difficult to find a sharp, standout game education curriculum, and the financial burden is indeed a reality. However, when attempting self-study, doubts arise about whether one is doing well, leading to a search for a milestone that can provide confidence. While document writing methods required in game design are a crucial part, there are not many places that explain in detail how to study them or show actual documents. In particular, there are few mediums that cover this area with real-world examples.

By taking this course, students will learn how to establish standards for game design.By following the lectures and examining actual deconstruction documents, you will understand how to draft documentation.Afterward, you will be able to master the methods of writing design documents on your own.Based on this, you will develop the ability to create your own portfolio.

In truth, there is no perfect "right path" in game design, much like a mathematical formula. This is because every game designer has a different way of expressing details. The common goal for all designers is to convey their thoughts as easily and clearly as possible to the developers and designers they collaborate with. However, if you find it difficult to grasp this broad framework, I believe this lecture will be helpful as a milestone or a reference material.

Frequently Asked Questions Q&A

Q. Can I take this course without any prior knowledge?

It is structured so that you can listen comfortably even without any basic knowledge.

Q. What is a reverse planning document?

In this lecture, the content was created based on a reverse proposal that helped one of the instructor's students successfully land a job at a major corporation. A reverse proposal involves choosing a commercial game that is already in service, assuming you have become the actual planner for that game, and practicing writing a proposal for a specific system.

Q. Why do we write reverse design documents?

Since beginners have no foundation, you can build your skills by first practicing reverse planning documents several times. Once your skills improve after writing reverse planning documents multiple times, let's move on to improving your skills by writing improvement proposals or original planning documents.
