I completed it! Thanks to the instructor's lectures, I think I was able to complete a portfolio project integrating a database by myself! As someone who learned through the instructor's lectures and built a project, I was very satisfied with the course. The explanations were great, and the learning content was well-structured, which was also good! Thank you!
Practical Unity Game Development
Database
Unity C# Programming
Those aspiring to become solo developers or preparing for employment will certainly encounter challenges and difficulties when learning Unity and game development. Those difficulties will likely involve working with databases and servers.
Those developing games solo obviously need to be able to handle both the client and database aspects of a game, and those creating a portfolio for employment also need both a client and a database to raise the quality of their portfolio.
I’d like to help you resolve that issue in this course. In particular, when it comes to game development, it isn’t easy to find learning materials or courses that cover or combine Unity and databases at the same time. Therefore, in this course, we’ll work with Unity and databases together and combine the two to help you create higher-quality projects.
We will develop using Google's Firebase service, which allows you to use DBMS/RDBMS easily.
I’ll leave a link to the chat room in the final section so you can access it freely after enrolling!
As you build a project in practice, you learn about Unity through a casual game where you avoid falling snow, learning the game’s logic and systems. You can develop a Unity client.
You can learn the concept of what a database is in a simple and easy way. Before integrating Unity with a database, you will learn the fundamentals, followed by the JSON format.
UnityYou can learn how to integrate a game project with Firebase DB and how to upload, load, and update data through communication between the game and the database.
Firebase, a service provided by Google, allows you to rent a database without having to implement one yourself among the various backend services.
It is the most suitable service for solo developers, those looking to create a portfolio, and those who want to learn about databases. Through this course, you will cover these topics and learn by tackling them hands-on.
When most people study game development, they usually have to learn how to work with Unity and how to handle backend systems such as databases separately. The available materials are generally separate, and there are hardly any materials or videos that cover both together.
However, these aspects can be challenging for those creating a portfolio or studying to become solo developers. In particular, portfolios and projects that incorporate both in-game elements and backend systems have become essential recently.
To address these shortcomings, we prepared a course that covers Unity and databases together. Of course, this course focuses primarily on databases while covering the basic elements of Unity, but we designed it to help you learn the essential components of both at once.
A laptop or desktop capable of running Unity
This course was created using Unity version 2021.3.22f1, but it can also be implemented in the same way in Unity 6.
