The game engines currently used in our country are Unity3D, Unreal, and Cocos2d-x.
Cocos2d-x has powerful features for creating 2D games and the advantage of being completely free, but it has had a high barrier to entry because development has to be done in C++.
But now, with Cocos Creator, we can develop just as easily and quickly as Unity, while still enjoying the features and performance of Cocos2d-x. (Applause! Clap! Clap!)
Cocos Creator uses a simple and concise form of JavaScript instead of C++, and the development tool provided is an easy all-in-one editor that can rival Unity.
As it is an all-in-one editor, it is not easy to learn from a book.
With tools like this, you can easily follow along with the development by watching the video and carefully observing the developer's mouse movements.
I have written several books on Cocos2d-x, but here's why I created Cocos Creator as a video tutorial.
Q. Can non-majors also take the course?
A. If you have some basic knowledge of JavaScript, you don't need any other special knowledge. This is a beginner-level course that covers almost everything. Anyone interested in game development, even beginners, can join without any pressure.
Q. Why should I learn Cocos Creator?
A. Previously, Unity3D was the only option, even though it was paid, because it was much easier than Cocos2d-x. However, Cocos Creator is now as easy to use as Unity. Plus, it's free and lets you take advantage of Cocos2d-x's powerful features.
