Is Fortinet FCP Security Operations Good for SOC Roles?
I’ve been working in a SOC for about a year now. Most of my time goes into triaging alerts and checking logs. I also assist with incident response when needed. Now I want to level up. I’m looking for a certification that helps me think beyond just alerts. Something that builds a solid base in SIEM, log correlation, and security tools. I came across the Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) – Security Operations cert. The NSE6_FNC-7.2 exam covers FortiSIEM, FortiAnalyzer, and other Fortinet tools. That caught my eye. We use Fortinet products at work, but I haven’t worked directly with FortiAnalyzer yet. I downloaded some Fortinet Professional Network Security Certification exam questions from Pass4Future to see what the exam is like. Looks doable, but I still have doubts. So I wanted to ask:Is this cert helpful for real SOC work?Does it teach practical skills or just product knowledge? How does it compare to CySA+, SC-200, or Blue Team Level 1?Is it lab-heavy or mostly multiple-choice?If anyone here has taken the exam or used this cert in the field, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Just trying to figure out if it’s the right step for my growth in the SOC world.
