Thank you for helping me overcome my confusion before getting started with front-end TDD. I will try to write test cases and challenge myself step by step based on what you taught me.

As a backend developer currently studying frontend, I've always been concerned about testing and lacking confidence in my code, so thank you for the advice!! I've always felt the need to introduce Storybook but was hesitant due to the additional effort and learning required, so thank you for pointing out that there are methods that don't use that library!!

What you will gain after the course

  • Component-Driven FE Development with Storybook

  • Component-Driven FE Development with Automated Test Code

This video is a recording of a presentation session held at the <Pangyo After-Work Meetup with Inflearn - FE Test Code> in August 2024. 🙂

Presentation Session 🎤

Presentation Session: Component-Driven Frontend Development with Storybook & Automated Testing

Modern frontend revolves around components that are easy to compose. But why are we still developing with a page-centric approach?

Storybook is more than just a shared component library; it is a tool that enables component-driven development. Component testing in a real browser is faster than E2E testing, yet allows you to write tests from the perspective of an actual user.

Component-driven development helps define roles and boundaries and makes it easy to reproduce various scenarios. Naturally, it makes working easier and faster.

Who will find this presentation helpful?

  • Those who are suffering from reproducing and mocking various scenarios

  • Those who are dissatisfied with slow E2E tests

  • Those who want to reduce overtime by learning web standards and web accessibility

  • Those who have never written frontend tests or find them difficult

Speaker: Taehee Kim (Detective Rabbit),  Current) Developer at Selpas

"I work as a Clojure full-stack developer at Selpas and also provide coaching. I have a particular interest in functional programming, front-end testing, accessibility, and web standards, which I have researched and applied to my work. I have translated Storybook's testing documentation and even created and used my own testing tool called siheom."
