A diagnosis is rarely made with just one diagnostic method, as not all diagnostic methods produce the same results.

  • How can we best integrate the results of different diagnostic methods?
  • Which of the various diagnostic methods would be most helpful in improving the diagnostic rate?
  • Among the various diagnostic methods, aren't there some that are unnecessary?

There are mathematical and scientific answers to all these questions.

And this isn't limited to medicine or diagnosis. It's a fundamental principle that always follows us when making decisions or choices. Whether it's raining, whether to carry an umbrella, whether to take the bus, whether to get married, whether to eat, all these judgments and decisions involve a process of integrating various reasons within our minds . This lecture is a mathematical implementation of this process.

And it's also the foundation of machine learning. This method has been in continuous use since before the term "machine learning" became popular, and has been utilized by medical researchers. It's now a classic and a machine learning method. Yet, it's in no way inferior to the best machine learning techniques.
