Datalian Seminar in June is 🔍

I recommend this to those who are having these concerns ✅

  • I want to hear from senior data analysts about the job-hunting process, concerns after employment, etc.
  • I'm curious about how employed senior data analysts work.
  • Please help me. I am a data analyst without a shooter. Is this the right way to do my job?
  • Am I doing well right now? Am I going to end up like a water-experience query machine?
  • I may have to work for the next 20 or 30 years, so how on earth should I plan my career?

📺 In July, we'll talk about real-world examples of data-driven decision making.

June Seminar Timeline

#1 - Building a Self-Growing Analyst Career

✔ "Finding Your Own North Star in the Career Wilderness"

  • Speaker Bae Ye-seul - Data Analyst / Previously working at a dawn delivery startup and now working at a second-hand trading platform.

Can anyone define exactly what a data analyst does?
Data analysts have very different jobs depending on the company, and even within the same company. In this wilderness where everyone has a different definition of a data analyst, what should we aim for when creating our careers? What should be my North Star?

"The story of an analyst who became a frog in a well"

  • Speaker Lee Bo-min - Data Analyst / After working as a data analyst at Jobplanet, he is now doing analysis at Datalian.

Data analysis is a field that accounts for less than 1% of the company's workforce, and no content related to it can be found even when searching. So how do junior analysts study?
It's good to have a shooter to ask questions to, but you can't ask the shooter every time from 1 to 100. What should you do if you don't want to be a frog in a well? The ups and downs of a data analyst's job search and the career concerns that arise after employment. If you're curious about how they're solving those concerns, listen to this session.

#2 - Q&A

Expand the pre-questions answered in Part 2

Ⅰ. Data Analyst Employment Related

Q1. I am a job seeker who wants to be a data analyst. People around me often say that the first company you join is important. I want to work proactively and grow, so I am hoping to get a job at a startup rather than a large company. I am curious about how I can develop an eye for good companies as a data analyst, and if the speakers have any tips for choosing a good company!

Q2. Looking at the job postings, many of them ask for experience in improving indicators through hypothesis setting and experiments. How can new employees gain this experience? I wonder if it is possible to indirectly gain this experience without using actual company data!

Q3. What should I focus on when reading job postings on job sites?

Q4. I am curious about what is needed when trying to change careers from a data-related job to a data analyst, although it is not a data analysis position. Ex) Marketer → Data Analyst

Q5. I am thinking about quitting my job. If I want to change my job to a data analyst, I think I should start as a new employee or intern. Is that a good way to start?

Ⅱ. Data Analyst Career Development

Q6. Where should a first-year data analyst focus his or her career?

Q7. I am curious about what kind of work you did as a data analyst that made you feel like you grew rapidly.

Q8. I am curious about what capabilities and skills you are sharpening as analysts!

Q9. You say that logic is the most important thing in data analysis. What are some ways to improve that logical thinking?

Q10. I studied NLP data analysis and have been working at an NLP IT startup for 3 months. However, I am confused because I am working in a completely different job than data analysis. Should I prepare for a job change before it is too late?

Q11. I wonder who your role model is. I wonder what your dreams are as you grow up, and what your roadmap is.

Live participation review
If you're curious 👏

What was the most impressive thing you learned during the seminar?

  • In the first session, I was particularly impressed by the way they took the time to find work on their own and check whether it was something they wanted to do.
  • I was impressed by Yesul’s lecture, in which she worked hard and seized the opportunity without hesitation, even working overtime!
  • The series of processes that allowed me to grow from a non-major to a data analyst were the most impressive. I learned that it is important to join a new community and be inspired by various people. I thought that I should use the Datalian community in the future :)
  • What impressed me the most was Bomin's words that he would become one of us.
  • Through the speakers' stories, I reflected on myself and thought that I, too, should have the tenacity to actively pursue data or any task like the speakers.
  • There were so many things that I could relate to that really impressed me. I really sympathized with the fact that you are the only data analyst at a startup and that you are pioneering and doing the things you want to analyze.
  • The stories you shared during the Q&A session were impressive overall, but I liked that you shared insights that only field workers can have in the rapidly growing work-related questions. In particular, I was like, “Wow!” when you said you were thinking about the ROI of data analysis. Since it is a new job, there are many things to explore, and I think I am learning anew that mindset is the most important thing in this job.
  • As a job seeker, I had no idea which companies I should submit my resume to and which ones I should choose. However, the speakers' advice on choosing a company and setting one standard for yourself that you cannot compromise on was really helpful.
  • What impressed me the most was that the lecturers shared their experiences without any reservations. If they wanted to use it commercially, they would have just told endless sweet stories, but I really liked that they focused on realistic stories~

A word to Datarian!

  • I had a great lecture! I came here with a light heart after seeing an Instagram ad by chance, but I feel like I'm filling up on something heavy 😊😊
  • This is a huge help to newbies who start working without a shooter😢😢
  • It was a time like light and salt for non-major job seekers~
  • This is my first time hearing about a seminar hosted by Datalian, but many people knew about this great thing before me...! I will use the SQL lectures and community! Thank you for the great lecture.
  • There are so many data analysts who have the same concerns, and it feels reassuring to be able to hear from current senior data analysts who have experienced these concerns firsthand. Good luck with the Datalian seminar!!!!
  • I first came to know about Datalian when I came across a post about RFM analysis around the end of May, and I regret that I didn't pay more attention and check out the team blog at that time, so I could have gotten more information. 😊😊 Since most bootcamps focus on machine learning/deep learning technologies and only cover basic analysis methods, I was always thirsty while preparing for a job as a data analyst, but I feel so reassured after learning about this salt-like existence. Thank you!!
  • Thank you for creating a space where people interested in data analytics can gather!
  • Thank you for organizing such an informative seminar today! It was a great help in preparing for my job as a data analyst.
  • Thank you so much for the great seminar. I gained a lot of good information and had time to think about my future career.
