Monthly Datalian Seminar 🎤

Datalian Seminar in October is 🔍

I recommend this to those who are having these concerns

  • I would like to know real-world examples of how other companies analyze data and use it to make decisions.
  • I have GA4 data, but I can't use it. I wonder how I can analyze it to derive insights.
  • I'm trying to create a dashboard, but I don't know what metrics to use to compose the dashboard.
  • I've been working hard on creating dashboards, but people are increasingly not looking at them. I'm at a loss as to how to create dashboards to share data in the future.

📺 In November, we talk about the foundation for creating actions with data!

October Seminar Timeline

#1 - Creating an environment where data quickly leads to action

✔ " Data Analysis Leads to Action "

  • Speaker Kim Min-joo - Data Analyst / Co-founded and exited shared housing startup Napster. Worked as a data analyst at B2B logistics startup Swatch On, and founded Datarian.

Are you just staring at your data because you don't know how to use it? Datalian introduces examples of how to analyze data and take action.

" The Dashboard is Alive: Reviving a Dead Dashboard "

  • Speaker Song Hye-jeong - Data Analyst / Worked as a data analyst at content company Ridibooks, and is currently the founder of Datalian, where she conducts data analysis and content production.

Have you created a dashboard but it is not being used and is moving further and further away from data-based decision making? How should you plan a dashboard to contain only important information? How should you display data to check data more effectively? How should you handle the numerous additional requests derived from the dashboard? We will share the know-how of dashboard creation through the case of Datalian, started by four data analysts.

#2 - Q&A

  • Live Q&A with live webinar attendees
Expand the pre-questions answered in Part 2 💬

Q1. I am planning to introduce GA4 to analyze customer behavior patterns. Is there any reference material for introduction?

Q2. How detailed should GA4 events be set?

Q3. Can the data seen in the GA4 dashboard be implemented as is in Data Studio?

Q4. What is the most inconvenient thing about GA4?

Q5. I would like to conduct a study on dashboards in-house. How can I study in a way that will help me in my work?

Q6. Can the data analysis method that leads to action be applied to side projects? I always felt sorry that side projects ended up as analysis without action, so I am very curious about the method.

Q7. Have you ever had separate roles for analyzing and providing data and for taking action based on actual data? In that case, how did you communicate?

Live participation review
If you're curious 👏

What was the most impressive thing you learned during the seminar?

  • Thanks to the explanation using actual examples of work done at Datalian, I was able to understand the data analysis field a little better.
  • How to resolve conflicts of opinion in practice with data (=experiments)
  • The question of whether to use the blog platform you provided as an example was something I had actually thought about while working, and it was fascinating to hear an example of how the same concern was quickly confirmed and resolved through data.
  • I also became interested in data at a time when I was sick of doing things with my brain like you said in a lecture in another field, so I could relate to it to some extent and found it interesting.
  • The examples of making decisions quickly with data were interesting, and overall, it was fun to hear about what data analysts worry about and how they solve problems. And asking why a dashboard is needed, and the fact that there are things that can be solved faster and more satisfyingly by passing queries without necessarily creating a dashboard, is something I think I will continue to think about while working!
  • I was impressed by the practical functions of the dashboard and the anecdotes about why it is not well utilized in companies.
  • I was impressed by the part where you should create a dashboard that suits your purpose, rather than just creating a pretty dashboard. I also liked seeing various other tips.
  • It's really hard to find examples of how to build a dashboard using Google Data Studio, so I really appreciate you showing that.
  • Communicating what is needed before creating a dashboard is the most basic thing, but it was something I had been missing. (I think I took for granted the resources for providing, adding, and modifying a dashboard.) It is something that can be implemented immediately and will have the greatest effect. 😊😊
  • I have experience running a newsletter, so I liked how you use the newsletter dashboard. I also thought it would have been better if I had taken some action on open retention or each subscription group when I was running it.
  • I was listening to this while I was making a dashboard and was wondering how to utilize it. It was good that it explained what kind of discussions should have been held in the first place, so I could understand what the problem was. I think that the Datalian seminar stands out for its clean way of proceeding, as you can listen to the seminar content without interruption while chatting in real time!
  • I had forgotten about the purpose of looking at the data, but I appreciate that you brought this up in the lecture.
  • I was impressed by the way you shared the process of resolving the concerns you had on your own in practice.

A word to Datalian!

  • Thank you for always giving me great insights. I enjoyed listening to it.
  • Thank you so much for sharing the knowledge you gained through experience that you could never have learned through books or Googling.
  • I always get a lot of help from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
  • Thank you for always preparing great seminars! I'm looking forward to the next seminar😊😊
  • I find the articles you post on your blog very useful! Please continue to provide me with more information.
  • I'm so glad there are more activities like this sharing insights!
  • I am always grateful and love you Datarian :)
  • It was content that showed traces of monthly consideration. In particular, the formation in which the moderator plays the recorded lecture and the speaker directly answers questions in the chat is refreshing and good. Datalian is quite famous and loved by many people around me, and I hope that it will continue to be a great brand and help lost data analysts :)
  • I am planning to carry out a data analysis solution project, so it was good that there was a lot of content that I could introduce. In particular, it was helpful to be able to think a lot about what kind of discussions should be held for the dashboard to function properly.
  • Every single piece of content was impressive and very helpful! I used to blame myself for not being able to find a direction while digging alone, but I was comforted by listening to the seminar. I was able to find a direction on my own, and it was a time when I gained confidence that I just needed to organize the technical aspects and add knowledge!
  • I was at a loss about how to utilize GA4 and the dashboard, but I am satisfied that the seminar helped me understand it a little!
  • I love you. You guys are my role models!!
  • I'm also looking forward to next month's lecture!
  • I'm always receiving help and I'm participating in SQL Camp. My understanding of data has greatly improved. Thank you~!!
