An Introduction to Developer Employment for Non-Majors
This is an introductory course for starting a career as a developer. Unless you plan on staying in only one profession for your entire life, I highly recommend giving development a try at least once! It doesn't matter if you're a non-major or currently working in a different field. As someone who went from "selling rice to becoming a developer," I will help you!
It was a refreshing way to scratch the surface of my introduction to development, which I had not even started because no one had taught me.
I had wanted to start developing as a non-major a few months ago, but I just had no idea what to do. (There was no detailed explanation anywhere..)
At that time, I took Tutor Kim Byeong-wook's lecture, and it was the content I really needed. I think it literally saved me 2-3 months because he explained in detail what was needed from a non-major's perspective.
I definitely recommend it to those who are tired of searching for information related to 'non-major developers' on Brunch, YouTube, etc.!

I highly recommend it x2000 not only to those who are currently studying, but also to those who have vague thoughts about getting a job as a developer! It was a lecture that allowed me to let go of vague worries and burdens because I had a guideline after taking the class. It seemed like the instructor generously shared his own trial and error and experiences! It was a lecture that I really learned a lot from.

"Want to hear the story of how I became a developer after selling rice in the market for two years?"
📝 Course Introduction
Topic Introduction
Hello. I am Byeong-uk Kim, who used to sell rice in the market for two years and is now working as a developer at a promising startup! These days, with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, AlphaGo, and so on, it feels like something terrible will happen if you don't become a developer, doesn't it?
Well... of course, it's not the end of the world. However, now that I have become a developer myself, I highly recommend trying out the profession of a developer at least once in your life. Anyone can start a career as a developer in just 6 months. I will help you!
Why you should learn
The goal of this class is to SAVE at least 2 months of your precious time. You probably have so many questions, like how to prepare to become a developer, how long it takes, and what front-end or back-end even are, right? I felt the exact same way when I first started preparing in January of last year.
In January 2019, at the age of 29, I moved to Seoul with no prior knowledge, determined to become a developer. I ended up wasting two months floundering in a sea of information across YouTube, Google, and books. After that, I studied hard for exactly four months from March to July (a total study period of six months) and was able to start my career as a developer at a promising startup.
Once I actually got a job... those precious two months of January and February felt like such a waste. (The living expenses for those two months... my salary... ugh, my money ㅠㅠ) That's why I really wanted to provide a roadmap for beginner developers after I got hired, so that others wouldn't have to go through the same trial and error as I did.
The tuition fee is
I thought about the value you could gain through this class. If you could save two months of your time starting now, how much cost would you be able to reduce? In terms of money, I believe you could save at least 5 million won, considering two months' worth of salary, living expenses, and career experience.
That is why I set the tuition fee at 1% of the total benefit you will gain from this course. I want you to take the remaining 99% of the value for yourself. Personally, if your situation allows, I strongly recommend taking this course before you begin your development journey. However, I understand that everyone's circumstances are different. If you wish to take the course but are facing difficult circumstances, please reach out to me via the open chat room. I will do my best to help in any way I can.
"I think of it this way. Byeong-uk's class is an 'Introduction to Developer Employment' class!! Usually, you take an introductory course before taking major courses. It's a class that builds the core and skeleton of the field, covering everything from setting a direction to becoming a developer, to writing a portfolio and applying to companies for developer employment!
If you don't have clear knowledge or information about the development field, or if you're worried about what to choose because there's too much information, or if you don't know which direction to take in the future, I highly recommend Byeong-uk's class, which builds the skeleton for developer employment!"
- Course review from Ji-young, an offline lecture student
This class is an Introduction to Getting a Job as a Developer! (This isn't a phrase I wrote; it's from an offline class review haha) It contains only the things I truly wish I had known back in January of last year when I knew nothing. (If I had, I would have saved 2 months...)
I truly hope those who are serious about becoming developers listen to this at least once before starting. And please, become a developer as quickly as possible without going through the same trial and error I did.
Even if you get a job just 2 months earlier, you can SAVE 2 months' worth of salary, experience, and living expenses. (That's at least 5 million won or more, right...?) Since I couldn't do that, I am still paying off that debt even now. And above all, as all developers say, you learn much more in 1 month on the job than in 3 months of studying alone! (2 months means a 6-month gain!)
💡 Course Features
This course is open to anyone who doesn't know development but wants to become a developer. I will teach you everything from one to ten, step by step!
📖 A brief introduction for each section
We are going to create a roadmap to becoming a developer. We will fill in the blanks one by one at the end of each chapter.
I am confident that once you complete this page, you will be able to significantly reduce your trial and error! :)
Chapter 1: The Reason I Want to Start Development
Clarify the reasons why you want to start development. I will introduce books and study methods based on your level of interest in development. Additionally, I will explain what programming languages and frameworks are, and why you need to study them!
Chapter 2: Choosing a Development Field
In fact, there are so many different fields in development. Just as a swimmer needs to practice swimming and a marathon runner needs to practice marathons, I will explain each development field and help you decide on your own!
I will explain everything step-by-step using cute icons, so you don't have to worry at all!
Chapter 3: Choosing a Study Method
Once the field is decided, there are so many curriculums available. However, you probably have many questions, such as what format to study in, whether to attend a government-funded academy, whether to self-study, or what a bootcamp even is. I will explain them to you one by one.
And above all... bootcamps! Since starting my job as a developer, I've used my vacation time to visit all the famous bootcamps! I'm going to introduce the six most famous bootcamps. I'll explain the characteristics of each and even help with personalized recommendations if you'd like.
Chapter 4: Choosing a Programming Language
Once you start studying development, the first thing you need to do is study a programming language. There are so many languages, aren't there? I will explain the important languages and tell you which one you should start with. You will end up choosing your own specialty language.
Chapter 5: Preparing for a Developer Job
It's very difficult to suddenly create a developer portfolio when you have no prior experience, right? I felt the same way. However, let me show you my current portfolio. [Byeonguk Kim] (https://deaguowl.github.io/)
After this class, anyone will be able to easily create their own personal portfolio.
Chapter 6: Applying to Companies
Now that you've built your portfolio, it's time to get a job, right? I'll summarize and explain what's important when applying to companies as a developer. I will also help you establish your own criteria for choosing a company.
Chapter 7: The Real Life of a Developer
This is a bonus chapter for those of you who have completed the course. Great job on making it this far! I'm going to talk about what kind of work developers do at a company and what kind of lives they lead!
Chapter 8: Bonus Lecture
And finally, an insane tip that triples your chances of passing the resume screening...!!
If you're curious about the Rice Seller Developer's 2019 / 2020
Q. Can non-majors take this course? A. Yes! Of course. This class was created for those who know absolutely nothing, truly not even a single thing, about development.
Q. Is it good to take this before preparing to become a developer? A. Personally... I absolutely recommend taking it. It is composed of content that I wish I had known when I first started developing, back when I wasted two months knowing nothing.
Q. I'm worried because there aren't many reviews. A. This course was created based on my offline Taling class ["Secret to becoming a developer in 6 months after selling 'Rice'"](https://taling.me/Talent/Detail/14945). Many people have already taken that class, and it has been refined through numerous trials and errors. You can trust the course by checking the reviews from over 100 students who have left feedback.
I am maintaining a 4.9 rating on Taling and a 4.9 rating on Inflearn!
Well then, I'll see you in class! 💁♂️🤲

"sjw416" Seeing you recommended me 2000 times... I think being a developer is really for youㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I'm glad that you've let go of your vague worries and burdens. Actually, you can do it if you try...!! The burden is big. That's a relief :) Please let me know if you have any difficulties during your preparation process. I will do my best to answer to the best of my knowledge. Thank you!

Dear Aeyong! I have given you advice through separate open KakaoTalk, but I think you can do really well. Don't worry too much, and if you just keep doing what you are doing now, I think you'll be fine. Fighting, Aeyong!
Hello~Tutor! I paid for the lecture today and got absorbed in it so I finished it in one day.
Thank you for the great lecture that saves time for those who are new to developer employment!
I decided to become a developer for a while, so I already knew a lot of things, but you organized the content well and fed it to me~!
I am currently working and preparing to become a developer at the age of 30. It may be a little late, but I plan to quit my job in the second half of the year and prepare hard at one of the boot camps mentioned in the lecture! I had a lot of worries about how to prepare for employment in the future, but Tutor Byungwook's lecture helped me organize my thoughts a lot. Thank you! Now all that's left is to prepare hard!
I decided on a career in backend, and the lecture content made me worry a little, but... I will prepare with courage rather than fear! I will definitely tell you when I finish the boot camp and get a job :)
I definitely recommend this lecture to those who are new to developer employment without a major~!!
"jake" Developer is a job that doesn't matter your age, so it's definitely possible for you!! You can do well. Since you can't attend a bootcamp if you miss the start date, I think it would be good to register in advance for the start date of the bootcamp you want and plan your schedule accordingly. Your mindset is also very important when you start a bootcamp, but a bootcamp will never do everything for you. I think it would be best to just think of it as a place that will help you study development for 12 hours a day :). If you contact us before you start, we will provide additional consultation. Thank you!
