Survey of 21 countries including Korea shows PMP certification holders earn 17% higher median salary than non-holders
Amidst AI reshaping industrial structures, demand for skilled project management professionals will increase to 30 million by 2035
The PMP certification showed a clear salary increase effect across 21 countries. In the United States, the median salary for PMP certification holders was $135,000, which is approximately 24% higher than the $109,157 earned by non-holders. This is more than 60% higher than the median household income in the U.S. Furthermore, it was confirmed that those with more than 10 years of experience after obtaining the PMP certification receive a significantly higher median salary than non-holders or those with less than 5 years of experience after certification. This demonstrates that the PMP certification is immediately reflected in salary increases, leads to even higher pay as experience accumulates, and continuously creates value far exceeding the initial investment cost. Among respondents in the 21 countries surveyed, approximately 67% of PMP certification holders reported an increase in total compensation over the past 12 months, with 75% of them seeing an increase of up to 10%.
