Essential knowledge for PMs who are just starting out

This lecture is for those who are aiming to become PM (Project Manager) and those who have become PMs without sufficient preparation. We will help students accurately understand the role and scope of work of PM, understand the entire IT project process, and then perform the performance skills for each process well based on vivid experiences in the IT field. In addition, we have prepared the lecture so that it can be applied immediately to actual work by providing samples of documents that PMs write or manage among IT outputs.

I work in business management, and while taking this course, my understanding of the entire project has improved! Above all, it was really, really helpful because it only included information that would be helpful in practice, not vague theories! Normally, I get bored or sleepy when I listen to lectures.. Fire Man 25's lectures only contain information that would be helpful in practice, so I was able to learn so much that I didn't realize how much time had passed while watching the lectures. It's so much fun. It's the best lecture I've ever taken, really!!!!ㅎㅎ

Expected Questions Q&A 💬

Q. Who is this lecture intended for?

The course is primarily aimed at those aspiring to become PMs and those who have entered the role without sufficient preparation. This course is designed to help these individuals gain a solid understanding of the overall project process and the specific tasks a PM should undertake at each stage. It's also recommended for planners who frequently double-down on PM duties and those in project support roles (PMO, PA, QA, etc.). A thorough understanding of the entire project process and the PM's responsibilities will enable them to more efficiently manage planning and project support tasks. It will also provide a solid foundation for those aiming to transition to a PM role in the future.

Q. After taking this course, will I be able to do PM work with confidence?

The biggest challenge for PMs without systematic training or sufficient experience is confidence. They often lack confidence in the proper order, method, and steps of project management. This often leads to a lack of confidence when working with clients and stakeholders, with the thought, "Am I really doing this right?" This course, based on over 15 years of practical experience as a PM, vividly explains the essential knowledge of the project process, what a PM should do at each stage, execution methods, and related terminology. This course will help participants gain a clear understanding of how most projects actually work, and how I should work, empowering them to confidently execute their PM duties.

Q. What does it mean to explain how you can do the same job better based on your practical experience?

Let me explain with an example. When managing the design phase, it's fundamental management knowledge to follow this sequence: [Design concept confirmation -> Draft draft -> Draft finalization and revision -> Overall design]. At this point, based on practical experience, I'll provide the following useful information, enabling you to perform the same task better.

When confirming a design concept, rather than saying, "What should the design concept of the system we are building this time?", say, "I analyzed and organized reference sites similar to the system in question and current design trends. Similar sites are doing it this way and the latest trends are like this. Based on this information, please give me your opinion on the design concept." This will make the customer's design concept requirements more specific, making the subsequent design draft work much more advantageous.
