🗒 Course Introduction - Sketch App Master Course (Intermediate)

Sketch is not a very difficult tool. Photoshop or AI provides more complex functions. However, when designing mobile and web, Sketch has become a lightweight and 😎 revolutionary design tool for designers. It has improved the speed of designers' work and reduced annoying repetitive tasks, so they don't have to work overtime. (It was like a dream to me 😱)

However, when looking at the results of designers who are working, there are many cases where these positive 🤬 functions are not properly utilized even when working with the same sketch app. Even though there are common elements in each designed screen, they are all designed differently, and the tone and manner are often inconsistent. (Is it just me who feels this way? 🥵)

Symbols are a tool that can fundamentally solve these problems, and components made with symbols are also useful information for developers. Anyone who does a little sketching praises symbols. They think about how to use them more effectively and efficiently.

1. Simple explanation of difficult symbols!

Have you ever had vague fears or difficulties with symbols? Did the inspector screen look complicated when using Apple iOS UI resources? Macbook + Sketch app - You will need a Macbook with the Sketch app installed.

Mac OS must be updated to the latest specifications. Older versions may not provide the same functions or may have slightly different screens. If you do not update your Mac OS, Sketch app updates will not be installed.

Sketch app is a paid app. If you haven't purchased it yet, please install the trial version which provides a 14-day free trial period. You can use all the same functions!

Q. This is my first time learning design. Isn't it difficult?

A. This is a lecture that even non-design majors can easily take. If you need basic concepts about sketching, please make sure to take the 'Basics' course.

Q. Why is it good to learn Sketch app?

A. Sketch app was created and third-party products including Adobe XD were released one after another. It is difficult to say which of them is better, but Sketch app is the pioneer of the development and diversity of these design tools. If you are familiar with Sketch app, all tools developed after it will be easier to use.

Q. Is it possible to use a Windows PC?

A. Ooops~ sorry Unfortunately, there is no Sketch for Windows. Since the company that developed the program is American, it is a software that can only be used on Macs, which are mainly used overseas. For the future, it would be a good idea to get a Mac...

Q. You're buying a Mac knowing full well about my financial situation!!!???

A. If you have a MacBook, you can use most of the design tools, but if you have a Windows OS laptop, there are software such as Sketch, Plinto, etc. that you cannot use. In my personal opinion, if you want to spend the same amount of money on a laptop and use it for a longer period of time to learn various tools, I recommend a MacBook. And if you get a job at a company and say, "I don't know how to use a MacBook," it won't work. Not an Apple-friendly idea, but for practical use!! Become a creator!

Q. Are there any companies in Korea that use Sketch?

A. Yes, most domestic companies, including Kakao, use it in their mobile app design companies :)

I wrote a book about sketch apps called 'Delicious Sketch' in 2017. It's a poorly written book that didn't sell as well as the amount of effort I put into it. ㅜㅜ While running an IT company, I got to know design tools, and as a designer, I enjoy sharing the accumulated know-how and creating better ideas while completing the content I designed myself into an actual app service.
