The practical use of Docker containers is increasing. IT security is also using this environment for malware analysis, breach response analysis, and web service utilization. It covers in detail how to strengthen and manage the security required to use the environment. It will be a great guide when considering the practical use of Docker in the future.
The practical use of Docker containers is increasing. IT security professionals are also leveraging this environment for malware analysis, breach response analysis, and web service utilization. This course covers in detail how to strengthen and manage the security required for this environment. This will serve as a valuable guide for those considering future Docker implementations.
What is Docker?
Container-based open source virtualization platform abstracts server environments and programs into containers, making deployment and management (drastically) simple.
2. Course Target
Anyone who wants to understand how to utilize Docker containers
Anyone who wants to learn about Docker containers from a security perspective
Anyone who wants to use Docker for incident response analysis, malware analysis, etc.
3. Requirements
You need to install a virtual machine, either VMware Workstation or VirtualBox. The installation method for the practice image is introduced in the lecture.
Virtual images and PDF materials used in the lecture are provided in the lecture.
4. Instructor Introduction
(Current) Security Project Malware Analysis Part, Senior Instructor Lee Jung-geun: Online lectures for long-term malware courses by type: Lectures on document-type malware analysis (Current) Participating as an author related to education (Former) Security Solution Construction and Maintenance (3 years) Lecture Supervisor: Security Project Niki
I was curious about how it would be if I combined the advantages of Docker with Kali Linux as a VM, and that's when I found this lecture. First of all, I personally felt that the parts that change when the tools I used in Kali are changed through Docker were not focused on... Most of the lecture was spent on explaining Docker itself, and the part that was checked later seemed to be no different from using it in Kali... My curiosity about why I should use Docker was not resolved, and I personally have many regrets.
Actually, I hesitated before applying for the lecture because there were too many lists about Docker, but I applied because there were too few materials on the Internet. Next time, I hope that you will focus on the parts that are clearly different when using Docker during the advanced course.
