Let's quickly go over some confusing development terms!

What is an API ? What is a server and what is a client ? I don't really understand what you're talking about.

You say you need to address edge cases , but what exactly are they?

I work in a non-developer role in the IT industry, and I want to better understand how developers talk .

👉 Even if you know just a little bit of developer terminology,
You can understand the context much more accurately.

In the IT industry, where communication with developers is a frequent occurrence, it can be challenging for non-developers to grasp development-related terminology . Even if you try learning a programming language or browsing wikis, you'll never truly grasp the concepts. This is because you lack a basic understanding of development terminology.

  • What on earth is the purpose of an API, as they say, “poke the API”
  • What is the relationship between server/client, frontend/backend?
  • They say there is a DB in the backend, so does that mean the DB is inside the backend?
  • The DB is also on mobile devices, so does that mean mobile devices are also backends?

Even if you have a vague grasp of development knowledge, if you don't understand the relevant terminology, you'll end up struggling to properly understand the conversation. This course is designed for those who struggle with just such situations.

You can understand the roles and purposes of servers and clients.

Check out the Q&A ! 💬

Q. Do I need to have experience studying a programming language?

No. It's structured so that even non-developers with no development experience can listen. Even if you don't know the concepts or grammar of programming languages, you can listen as if you were learning common sense.

Q. Do I need a development environment?

No, we don't do development in this course.
