It was very helpful to have PL/SQL explained based on practical experience. It's the best.
The environment I'm in also deals with a lot of SQL and PL/SQL, so I've been wondering when to study PL/SQL. I just searched the web and played around with it.
The tips the instructor gave are actually a little different from my environment. The parts I use are a little different. But I can see parts that I can use someday! It was nice to be able to learn by following them. I gained a lot of insight.
By the way, it's not common for a senior to share knowledge like this, and I'm grateful and will follow suit, especially for scratching an itchy area like PL/SQL compared to Java and the cloud.
Below are the parts that I personally found helpful, written as I remember them.
- bulk insert into & forall
- collection
- How to create procedures & functions
- Basic principles of PL/SQL such as blocks
- How to create dummy data
- Data migration (this was really helpful)
- Scheduler (I also gained a lot of insight from this)
Thank you.
