Information System Audit Practice for Beginners

Instructor Introduction

I have been performing supervision work for over 20 years since the early 2000s, and I am convinced that #information system supervision, which started with public SI projects, has played a significant role in improving the #quality of information systems that support work in the public sector, despite many controversies in its development process.

Introduction to the course

Target audience

The content of this course is mainly for beginners. In addition to the 5-day basic supervision training provided by the Supervisory Association to obtain supervisory qualifications, supervisors who are not familiar with the supervision field have no other training opportunities, so they have no choice but to learn supervision methods from over the shoulders of seniors at the supervision field. However, most of the time, everyone in the supervision field is too busy for a proper supervision training for 5 days.

Therefore, this lecture is designed to be practical so that even beginners can utilize it in the field of supervision, such as how to write a #supervision report and related cases, for those who want to carry out supervision systematically and effectively.

Lecture Details

The first part was about the overview of information system supervision, the middle part was about the step-by-step supervision procedures and supervision methods, and the last part explained the 5-day supervision execution method, supervision methods by supervision area, and the qualifications and abilities of the supervisor.

Supervision is generally composed of three stages of supervision according to the development process. Stage supervision is also called regular supervision and supervision is performed by dividing it into the #requirements definition stage, #design stage, and #final stage.

Each stage of supervision is conducted in the same procedure and method in the order of preliminary investigation -> on-site supervision -> confirmation of corrective action.

Course Features

Through this lecture, we tried to cover in detail everything from the basic concepts of information system supervision to practical know-how. In particular, we provided guidelines for dealing with various situations that junior supervisors may face, including practical cases and checklists that can be applied in the field, and provided various examples to improve QA (quality assurance).

I hope that this book will be of practical help to entry-level auditors who are performing information system audit work. I also hope that it will contribute to increasing the understanding of the audit system for those in charge of ordering organizations and developers.
