Some time had passed since I recorded the course, so I listened to it again from the beginning, putting myself in the students’ shoes.
As I listened, a few things kept bothering me. During the hands-on exercises, the silence while waiting for the query results was longer than expected, the volume of my voice varied from session to session, so I had to adjust it again, and above all, once I noticed my habit of saying “Yes,” whenever I started a sentence, I kept hearing it.
So I reworked the entire course video from start to finish.
The waiting periods are shorter now. I trimmed parts where I ran a query and waited for the results, or paused briefly while switching screens. However, I left in the breathing room at transitions between topics. Think of it as simply cutting down on the dragging parts without making it feel rushed or hastily stitched together.
We removed habitual filler phrases. We selectively cleaned up habitual interjections like "Yes, then" and "Uh, now." Each one is minor, but they can become subtly tiring when listening continuously for two hours, so you should now be able to focus solely on the explanations.
We adjusted the volume. Some sessions were quiet while others were unusually loud, so you may have had to adjust the volume each time. Now, we’ve made it consistent so you can listen at the same volume from beginning to end. We also removed the parts where the sound suddenly got louder and crackled. Those who listen with earphones during their commute will probably notice the biggest difference.
The lecture content or order has not changed, so if you are already taking the course, you can continue watching from where you left off.
However, since this was done by people, there may still be awkward cuts or typos in the subtitles. If you find any, please feel free to leave a comment on the Q&A board. We’ll check and fix them right away.
Also, I wasn’t able to fix the repeated phrases this time. I’ll continue monitoring and refining them so they’re more comfortable to listen to.
