Anatomy of K-POP Chords: Practical Music Theory Lectures by Real Artists and Producers

Hello. I am music artist Jin clobert. As a classical music major, a music college graduate, and a currently active music artist, I have often seen many people get frustrated in front of the high wall known as "Harmony." In particular, I felt that commercial harmony textbooks like those by Baek Byeong-dong or Applied Harmony are too vast and filled with theories that are difficult to apply to composition immediately. That is why I created this course. I have included only the core theories essential for actual popular music composition. I clearly explain why you are learning this and where and how it is used. You can vividly experience the theory by analyzing actual examples within K-POP music. We won't stop at simply memorizing theory; we will also cover the actual thoughts and decisions a composer makes while creating a song. I will help you naturally understand concepts that may have felt complex—such as intervals, Roman numerals, chords, inversions, secondary dominants, tensions, modal interchange, modulation, and money chords—within the context of music. Let's discover the hidden principles of harmony together by dissecting the chords of K-POP music. 🎵 A real composer's practical harmony lecture for real composition. No more difficult and boring harmony. Start your journey with easy and approachable harmony right now.

🎼 Hello.

I am music artist Jin clobert.

I am currently a student in the Composition Department at the Korea National University of Arts,
and at the same time, I am active as a music artist under the name 'Jin clobert'.

During the entrance exam period, I studied harmonic theory systematically to get into the composition department at K-ARTS,
and now I am actively creating and releasing my own music based on that foundation.

That is why I know better than anyone else.
That music theory can feel too difficult, too expensive, and too far out of reach.

To be honest... that's how I was. I really couldn't understand what any of it meant at all.

So!

Attention to those who want to properly learn music once and for all!

Or, I will easily teach you that expensive music theory study you've only ever dreamed of!!

Throughout all the songs I have composed and produced,
I have designed countless chord progressions and harmonic structures,
treating music theory as a 'living language' within practical music.

Many music theory textbooks on the market have solid theoretical structures, but
contain many concepts that are excessively difficult and abstract for beginners.

In the end, I have often seen cases where people give up halfway because it doesn't resonate with how it is actually used in real music.

That's why this course was designed to
select only the core concepts frequently used in actual music, and
analyze K-POP chord progressions so that theory becomes an 'audible experience.'

In addition to these, I have released various other songs,
directly implementing harmonic structures and chord progressions into music.

This course is for people like this

  • Those who want to understand chord progressions but find music theory books difficult.

  • Those who have been writing songs by intuition alone and want to build a solid theoretical foundation.

  • Practical music beginners who want to learn K-POP style composition

  • Those who want to try composing music themselves through chord analysis

Unique Features of This Course

  • Analysis of actual chord progressions in K-POP

  • Intuition-focused explanations rather than rigid theory

  • Questions and feedback are highly welcomed – a structure for mutual understanding

After taking this course, you will be able to

  • You will be able to harmonically interpret and explain K-POP music.

  • You can design your own chord progressions with logic and intuition.

  • Instead of simple memorization, you will develop an intuitive sense for harmony.

🎯 Why did I create this course?

I have seen many people get frustrated by the wall of 'Music Theory'.
In particular, existing textbooks like Baek Byeong-dong or Applied Harmony
are vast in content and feel too distant to be applied immediately to composition.

That is why this course is different.

    • “Why you are learning this”,

    • “where it is actually used in music” is
      clearly explained.

Analyzing K-POP and popular music as if dissecting it,
I have designed this course so that you can naturally experience and internalize complex concepts such as intervals, chords, inversions, secondary dominants, tensions, borrowed chords, money chords, and modulation
    within the music itself.

I will help you understand, feel, and create music through the actual way a real composer thinks while making a song.

📌 For those of you about to start music theory right now,
    rather than a stiff book,
I will explain it in the "language of someone who actually makes music in the field."
Let's develop your musical intuition together.

    📌 Even though it's a non-face-to-face lecture,
please feel free to ask questions anytime. This is not a lecture where you just listen alone and finish.
I have prepared this as a course where we understand and grow together.

🎵 A real composer's practical harmony lecture for real composition
No more difficult and boring harmony.
Now, let's find out together how music actually sounds.
