🎼 Hello.

I’m the music artist Jin Clobert (Jin clobert).

I am currently studying in the composition department at the Korea National University of Arts,
and am active as an artist under the name “Jin Clobert,” handling everything from composition to mixing and mastering myself.

Wanting to make good music, I have systematically studied music theory and composition,
and now I create, release, and perform my own music, building on that foundation.

Everyone hits the same wall when they start composing.

I understand the chords, but there are moments when I feel at a loss when it comes to actually writing a melody. When I look for songwriting lessons on YouTube, most of them are MIDI lessons, and ...

It’s surprisingly hard to find guidance on how to start a melody and develop it further.

Honestly... I was the same way. When I was studying music, I really wanted a course on how to write melodies, but it was surprisingly hard to find one.

That’s why I created this course.

Jin Clobert's Notable Releases

Jin Clobert - Waltz

Jin Clobert - The Beginning of Blessings

In addition to these, I have released a variety of songs,
composing melodies myself and bringing them to life as music.

This is how the course will proceed.

A melody begins with a short fragment called a motive.

In this course, I take only the motifs from three real hit songs and compose an entirely new song myself using those motifs.

  • 🎹 Ballad: KyoungSeo - [Stars in the Night Sky]

  • 🎤 K-POP: RESCENE - [LOVE ATTACK]

  • 🎧 Emotional hip-hop: Changmo - [Beautiful]

You can compare how the motif develops in different ways across genres.

And we openly show the process of writing the melody, deleting it, and explaining why it doesn’t fit.

You’ll see the moments when a composer is actually working through ideas, not just the finished result.

How You’ll Change After Taking the Course

  • You’ll learn how to expand a short motif into an 8-bar melody.

  • You’ll be able to read song structure (a, a’, b, c...) and apply it directly to your own song.

  • You will hear for yourself how changing the chords under the same melody changes its mood.

To be honest.

I can teach you how to develop a motif, but I can’t teach you how to come up with a good one. That’s a matter of innate musicality.

However, an ear for recognizing good motifs develops through analyzing and writing lots of melodies.

This course is the easiest way to start practicing.

Recommended for people like you.

  • Those who know chords but feel lost about how to write a melody.

  • For those who want to learn composition itself, not how to use MIDI

  • For those who are curious about how the melodies of their favorite K-pop songs were created.

  • For those who want to add structure and technique to melodies they’ve written purely by instinct.

🔗 Take It Alongside My Harmony Course

This course covers melody composition, while my harmony course, “K-POP Chord Analysis,” covers chords.

As you write melodies, you naturally start wondering, "What chord should I put here?" As the next step, continue with the harmony course.

By listening, you'll learn the principles behind adding chords.

📌 Questions are always welcome.
