K-POP Chord Anatomy: Practical Harmony Class by Real Artists/Producers

Hello. I'm music artist Jin Clobert. As a classical music major, music university graduate, and currently active music artist, I've often encountered many people feeling frustrated in front of the high wall called 'harmony theory.' In particular, I felt that harmony textbooks available in the market, such as Baek Byeong-dong's Applied Harmony, are filled with extensive content and theories that are difficult to apply immediately to composition. That's why I created this course. It contains only the core theories essential for actual popular music composition. I clearly explain why you need to learn this and where and how it's used. You can vividly experience the theory by analyzing real examples from K-POP music. Rather than just stopping at memorizing theories, I also cover the concerns and judgments that actual composers make while creating songs. I'll help you naturally understand concepts that seemed complex - intervals, Roman numerals, chords, inversions, secondary dominants, tensions, modal interchange, modulation, money chords, and more - within the context of music. Let's analyze K-POP music chords like dissecting them and discover the principles of harmony theory hidden within together. 🎵 Real harmony theory course by a real composer for real composition No more difficult and boring harmony theory, Let's start with easy and friendly harmony theory right now.

🎼 Hello.

I am music artist Jin Clobert.

I am currently enrolled in the composition department at Korea National University of Arts,
and at the same time, I am active as a music artist under the name 'Jin clobert'.

During my college entrance exam period, I systematically studied music theory and harmony to get into the composition department at Korea National University of Arts,
and now I'm actively creating, releasing, and performing my own music based on that foundation.

So I know better than anyone.
Harmony can feel too difficult, too expensive, and too distant.

Actually... I was like that too... I really couldn't understand what they were talking about at all.

So!

Attention those who want to properly learn music for once!

Or I'll easily teach you the expensive music harmony studies you've only dreamed of!!

Throughout all the songs I have personally composed and produced,
I have been designing countless chord progressions and harmonic structures and
treating harmony as a 'living language' within practical music.

Many commercial harmony textbooks have solid theoretical structures, but
they contain too many concepts that are overly difficult and abstract for beginners.

In the end, I often saw cases where people gave up halfway through because they couldn't grasp how it's actually used in real music.

So this course
selects only the core concepts frequently used in actual music,
and is designed to make theory become a 'listening experience' by analyzing K-POP chord progressions.

In addition to this, I have released various songs,
directly implementing harmonic design and chord progressions into music.

This course is for people like this

  • Someone who wants to understand chord progressions but finds harmony books difficult

  • Those who have been writing songs purely by intuition and want to build a theoretical foundation

  • Practical music beginners who want to learn K-POP style composition

  • Someone who wants to try composing music directly through code analysis

Unique Features of This Course

  • K-POP's Actual Chord Progression Analysis

  • Intuitive explanations over rigid theory

  • Questions and feedback are actively welcomed – A structure for understanding together

After taking this course, you will

  • You will be able to harmonically interpret and explain K-POP music

  • You can design your own code progression with logic and intuition

  • Instead of simple memorization, your sense of harmony becomes ingrained in your body.

🎯 Why did I create this course?

I've seen many people get frustrated and give up when faced with the wall called 'harmony theory'.
Especially existing textbooks like Baek Byeong-dong's Applied Harmony
have vast content and feel too distant to apply directly to composition.

    So this lecture is different.

    • "Why we learn this",

    • "Where it's actually used in music" is
      clearly explained.

Analyzing K-POP's popular music like dissecting it,
pitch, chords, inversions, secondary dominants, tensions, borrowed chords, money chords, modulation, etc.
Complex concepts are designed to be naturally experienced within the music.

In the way real composers actually think and worry when creating music,
I'll help you understand, feel, and create music together.

📌 For those of you starting harmony theory now
    Rather than rigid textbooks,
"I'll explain it in the language of people who create music in the field."
Let's develop our musical sense together.

📌 Although this is an online class,
please feel free to ask questions anytime. This isn't a class you just listen to alone and finish.
I've prepared this as a class where we understand together and grow together.
