How to succeed not only in your current job search but also in your next one (from a former HR manager and current headhunter)

Getting a job right now is by no means the end of the journey. Acknowledging the possibility of future career moves, I have structured this course to ensure that your recurring job-seeking activities as a professional can proceed smoothly in the future. As an active headhunter with 15 years of HR experience across conglomerates, mid-sized companies, SMEs, foreign firms, and startups, and as a published author of career books, I will reveal all the practicalities and conventions of the job market, including the most sensitive details.

How to become the person who gets hired, as told by someone who has actually hired people

1) First, objectively determine what your appropriate salary is.

If you overestimate your fair market value in the hiring market, it is only natural that finding a job will be difficult.

Strictly speaking, it's not that you can't get a job.

2) Current employment is important, but the next employment is also important.

The current employment is by no means the end.

Keep in mind that there are many things you need to do for your next employment.

If you overlook this, even if your current employment was easy, you will face immense difficulties in your next job search.

3) If I were the CEO of the company, would I actually hire someone like myself?

If you cannot confidently say "Yes" to that question, no company should hire you.

But that's okay. You just need to find the cause yourself and improve it.

4) Second place is eliminated. Only first place passes.

In terms of employment, if you cannot be first place, there is ultimately no difference between being second place or last place, as both result in failure.

5) Skills are important, but the timing of your application is just as crucial.

I applied for position B at company A today, but someone else might have had an interview for position B at company A today.

6) Likability is just as important as one's qualifications.

You want to keep spending time with someone you find likable.

It is the same with employment.

7) The feelings and judgments of interviewers at the interview site can never be replaced by AI.

Human feelings and judgments are absolute in decision-making.

While AI results can be referenced to some extent, it is essentially not an area that AI can replace.

In the end, the areas that AI can encroach upon in the recruitment market are bound to be limited.

I recommend it to these types of people

(1) Those who want to hear advice from someone who has properly experienced both the job seeker's perspective and the company's perspective in the job market for a long time

(2) Those who want their current job preparation to naturally lead to preparation for their next career move as well

(3) Those who want to live as a professional worker from a long-term perspective, including the short-term goal of immediate employment

Here is what you can gain after taking the course

  • A realization of what you truly want for yourself regarding employment

  • You can experience everything about employment from A to Z, including the subtle nuances arising from psychological gaps, with a realistic, hands-on feel.

  • The vivid perspective of companies reviewing resumes and the corresponding strategies for job seekers

  • A job seeker's strategy to persuade the interviewers in front of them through likability and intuition during an interview.

  • A cool-headed acknowledgment that many reasons for rejection stem from unavoidable external factors rather than a lack of skill, and equipping oneself with the mindset to overcome them.

The person who created this course

  • Background as a new job seeker

The instructor, who was once a job seeker with a so-called "weak background," jumped into the job market during the second semester of their senior year and was ultimately accepted by three companies simultaneously. Through this experience, they gained insights into the recruitment process and have since shared various advice and solutions to help job seekers in similar situations.

  • Activities after joining the first company

Since then, I have performed HR duties at a total of six companies over 15 years, experiencing various recruitment sites, and served as an HR team leader for approximately 4 years and 5 months.

Above all, through experience in recruitment across large corporations, mid-sized companies, SMEs, foreign-affiliated firms, and startups, I possess an unbiased and objective perspective.

  • Current Activities

    1) As a headhunter, I work to connect job seekers with companies.

    2) I have written and published a career-related book (March 2026) and am currently active as an author.

    3) Currently serving as the Director of the Smart Job Search Institute.
