A practical A-to-Z special lecture on landing a job (the truth from a former HR team leader and current headhunter)

The job right in front of you is by no means everything. Recognizing the possibility of changing jobs repeatedly in the future, I have structured the course so that your ongoing job-search activities as a working professional can continue smoothly going forward. As a current headhunter with 15 years of experience in HR roles across large corporations, mid-sized companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, foreign-owned companies, and startups—and as an author who has written and published books on job hunting—I will reveal all the practical aspects and practices of job seeking in the recruitment market, including the more sensitive areas.

How to Become the Kind of Person Who Gets Hired, According to Someone Who Has Hired People

1) Objectively assess what your appropriate salary is first.

If you overestimate your fair market value in the job market, it will naturally be difficult to find employment.

Strictly speaking, it’s not that you can’t get a job.

2) Getting a job now is important, but getting your next job is also important.

Getting a job now is by no means the end.

Bear in mind that there is a lot you need to do for your next job.

If you overlook this, even if finding your current job was not difficult, finding your next job will be extremely challenging.

3) If I were the head of a company, would I actually hire someone like myself?

If you cannot confidently answer Yes to that question, no company should hire you.

However, that’s okay. You can identify the cause yourself and improve.

4) Second place is eliminated. Only first place gets accepted.

If you cannot be first in the job market, there is ultimately no difference between being second and being last, since both are rejected.

5) Skill is important, but the timing of your application is just as important.

I applied for the B position at Company A today, but someone else may have interviewed for the B position at Company A today.

6) Just as important as qualifications is how favorably the recruiter views the job seeker.

You want to continue being around people you like.

The same applies to employment.

7) An interviewer’s impressions and judgment during an interview can never be replaced by AI.

A person’s feelings and judgment are absolute in decision-making.

While AI’s results can be taken into consideration to some extent, this is fundamentally not an area that AI can replace.

Ultimately, the areas that AI can encroach upon in the hiring market are bound to be limited.

(2)Those who want their current job preparation to naturally lead to preparation for their next job as well

(3)Those who, while including the short-term goal of finding a job right away, want to live life as a professional working person from a long-term perspective

  • Realizing what you truly want for yourself regarding employment

  • You can experience everything from A to Z about finding a job in a practical way, including the subtle aspects arising from psychological gaps.

  • The vivid perspective of a company reviewing resumes and the job seeker's resulting strategy

  • A job seeker’s strategy for winning over the interviewer through likability and a positive impression during an interview

  • A cool acknowledgment that there are many unavoidable external factors behind rejection, rather than a lack of ability, and adopting the mindset to overcome them.

The person who created this course

  • Background as a New Job Seeker

The instructor, who was what is commonly called a job seeker with a less-than-impressive “résumé,” entered the job market in earnest during the second semester of their senior year of college and was ultimately accepted by three companies at the same time. This experience gave them insights into the hiring process, and they have continued to share various advice and solutions to help job seekers in similar situations.

  • Activities after joining the first company

Over the following 15 years, I worked in human resources at a total of six companies, gaining experience in various recruitment settings, and spent approximately 4 years and 5 months working as an HR team leader.

Above all, through recruitment experience at large corporations, mid-sized companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, foreign companies, and startups, I have developed an unbiased and objective perspective.

  • Current Activities

1)As a headhunter, I connect job seekers with companies.

    2) Authored and published a book on employment (March 2026) and is currently active as an author.

    3) I am currently active as the director of the Smart Employment Research Institute.
