Datalian Seminar in July is 🔍

I recommend this to those who are having these concerns

  • Anyone who wants to hear stories from current IT company data analysts
  • For those who are curious about the career of a data analyst who has worked in various domains
  • I am currently working as a data analyst, but I am curious about how analysts at other companies work.
  • Job seekers who are curious about the difference between data analysts and data scientists

📺 In August 2023, we'll talk about data analytics for side projects!

July Seminar Timeline ⏰

#1 - The struggles of a one-man team data analyst

Speaker Yang Hyun-seung

  • Spoqa Data Analyst
  • Former Data Scientist at Storelink
  • I am a data analyst who loves Samoyeds and is very curious. I enjoy the process of finding hidden secrets through data. I enjoy communicating work and analysis results in an efficient way.

I wanted to actively analyze product data, so I changed my job from data scientist to product analyst.
Data analysts who work alone have a wider range of work than you might think. I would like to share my thoughts on how to maximize efficiency with limited resources, such as how to easily check dashboards and indicator changes, and how to quickly process analysis requests.

#2 - Job & Career Guide from a Current Data Analyst

Panel Yang Hyun-seung

  • Spoqa Data Analyst
  • Former Data Scientist at Storelink

Panelists Kim Min-joo, Yoon Seon-mi, Lee Bo-min

  • Datalian Data Analyst

Are you worried about whether a non-major can become a data analyst? Are you working as a data analyst but wondering if this is the right thing to do?

July Seminar
About the participants 📖

Kim Min-joo Moderator

I learned data analysis to find answers in a world where there are no right answers after starting a business. I worked as a data analyst and now I am working on growing services based on data.

Yang Hyun-seung , Part 1 Speaker

I am a Samoyed-loving and curious data analyst. I enjoy the process of discovering hidden secrets through data. I enjoy communicating work and analysis results in an efficient way.

Yoon Seon-mi Part 2 Panel

I have been working for 8 years already. Ironically, I have come to believe in the power of data more while working with Datalian members on various tasks such as marketing and service planning than when I was working only as a data analyst. I am interested in conveying data analysis in a way that anyone can easily understand.

Lee Bo-min Part 2 Panel

I worked as a data analyst at the recruitment platform Jobplanet, and now I work as a content marketer and data analyst at Datalian. I am working to spread the word so that those who are curious about data analysis can easily and quickly access data analysis content that is close to practical use.

Live participation review
If you're curious 👏

What was the most impressive thing you learned during the seminar?

  • Part 1: I was impressed by the part where Mr. Yang Hyeon-seung explained how to increase work efficiency. It was a time when I was able to learn things I didn't know before, such as how to check the dashboard easily and quickly by using Slackbot.
  • I liked that you objectively looked at the job postings to understand what capabilities are required of a data analyst and conveyed your opinions from the perspective of an actual practitioner.
  • I really liked how you explained in detail the work you do in the field and the things you thought about during the process! I'm hoping to pursue a career as a data analyst, but I've always been curious about what you do in detail and what you should think about, because there's no place to hear about it. Thank you for the informative session :)
  • As a solo analyst, I've always wondered about the areas of concern and the direction of the work I'm doing now, but after hearing various stories today, I felt like I was on the right track, and I was impressed by everything.
  • The concept of communication, which is important for data analysts, was broad, but it was divided into 1. Sharing results 2. Understanding requests, and the part where you gave specific examples and connected them in the same direction as the importance of visualization and documentation was memorable and very helpful!
  • It was great to hear from actual data analysts. I think I will be able to use what I heard today as a reference when I speak during interviews. I also learned some great tips to increase my value.
  • It was great to get some practical advice on how to choose a good company and what mindset to have when switching jobs.
  • I think the second part was very helpful because most of the questions were about things I had been thinking about. And it was nice to hear about personal experiences as well.
  • I was impressed by the fact that those who were changing jobs said that their experience working at a company was also considered experience.
  • I realized that studying for a certificate and studying for practical work are different.
  • There are two types of data analysts, in-house and SI, and their work is different. I had experience using SQL and Python, but I was just wandering around without confidence. After hearing the story, I was able to find a direction on how to develop my capabilities and become the data analyst the company wants.
  • It was a very refreshing experience to increase my value and learn about industry trends through job-hopping!
  • I was impressed by the detailed explanation of the work routine of a data analyst! Detailed experiences of the panelists👍
  • I enjoyed listening to the whole talk because it gave me a glimpse into a day in the life of a data analyst. The part where he explained why he changed his job from a data scientist to a data analyst was engraved in my mind, and it was also helpful to hear him share his strengths and interview tips here and there.
  • As a job seeker who hopes to work in data analysis, it was a valuable experience to hear the vivid and chaotic(?) behind-the-scenes stories of data analysts in the field. Also, since he gave many realistic and useful words that were closer to the core than the superficial, I was able to listen with interest and concentration.
  • The last thing you said, 'Even in your first year, continue to apply and learn about the trends in the hiring market, and when you return to the company, think about how you can gain those experiences and apply them,' was impressive!

A word to Datalian!

  • As a job seeker who hopes to work in a data job, I am truly grateful and thankful that there is an educational institution like Datalian. Even after I succeed in getting a job, I will continue to attend seminars, find good materials on blogs, and share them with others to become someone who can grow together :) Thank you for your hard work today!
  • Thank you for hosting a quality seminar! It was a great help in gaining insight!
  • Always listening! Thank you! ❤️‍🔥
  • I am so happy that online lectures and meetings have become more active since the coronavirus, and people like me who live abroad have more opportunities to study and participate in seminars through Datalian. I used to be lonely when I studied abroad alone, but now I feel less lonely after studying at Datalian!
  • Thank you for sharing such great and informative content. I look forward to even better seminar content!
  • It was a reassuring and informative time to hear about the daily lives of people who do data analysis as a profession, and to learn that they had similar concerns and difficulties as I, a newbie. Thank you for preparing a great seminar!
  • The content was so rich that it was hard to describe in words. I think the panelists received questions in advance and prepared their answers in advance, so I think it was able to proceed without being loose.
  • As a non-major, this seminar is not a common opportunity, so thank you for creating the opportunity!
  • Usually, when I listen to seminars, the discussions are inevitably conducted at an abstract level, but I really liked the Datarian seminar because it seemed to clearly address the questions that job seekers and practitioners have :) I hope to see many more informative seminars in the future!
  • Every time I listen to a seminar, I think to myself, Datarians are doing something they really love :) If I thought of it as just work, I wouldn't have felt this positive energy.
  • This is a great seminar for those who are curious about the job of a data analyst, and I liked the solid content.
  • I was at a loss because there were no people in the industry around me, but it was a useful time to hear practical advice and thoughts from people in the field. Thank you.
  • I love this data community because it tells me stories I'm really curious about, specific stories, and practical stories, not stories I've always heard or heard about!
  • This is the most helpful place to prepare for a data job transition. I love Datalian^^
  • I think the biggest advantage of learning about Datalian is that you can easily get the AZ of data analysis. As there are many people who trust and follow you, please continue to share quality information!
  • Thank you for your hard work. It was a useful time. In an unclear job world where even terminology is confusing, having a community like Datarian is a great source of support for those who wish to pursue this career. Thank you!
  • It was my first time attending a seminar, but I think it was very helpful. I also felt like a frog in a well 😊😊 I learned a lot. Thank you!
  • I think the seminars are always informative. It was great to be able to learn more about the job of a data analyst through the seminars.
  • This was my first time hearing about this seminar after following Datarian on Instagram. It was very informative and helpful. Thank you.
  • Thank you for always preparing rich and informative content! Datalian, fighting!
