To enable data visualization and analysis that meets our needs, this course follows the official exam scope presented in the Tableau Desktop Specialist certification guide.
When learning any new knowledge, it's natural to feel overwhelmed about where to start. In such cases, I utilize exams. This way, I can naturally learn overall concepts while studying important content in more detail and initially passing over less important content for efficient learning.
It's perfectly fine even if you don't obtain a certification. From a beginner's perspective, I designed this course to reduce the burden of learning for the first time and allow you to approach Tableau step by step with a light heart. This year, take your first step toward Tableau!

First Steps with Tableau
The efficient learning scope suggested by the formula
Since it follows the official exam scope, selective focus is possible. Starting from the basics, you can understand what Tableau's components mean, and through the helpful tips that appear throughout, you can learn quickly and effectively.
Of course, studying this content by comparing everything on your own would be overwhelming due to the English terms and new vocabulary you'll encounter, right? However, in this class, we combine concept explanations with hands-on practice, so you can follow along on your own while watching the lessons. Furthermore, we've structured it to reduce the burden by re-explaining English terms in Korean.
Course materials designed for beginners + homework provided
Theory class PPT is also provided for students. The first slide contains key Tableau terms, allowing you to see at a glance what will be covered and which concepts and features are important.
Along with the table of contents excerpted from the Tableau certification guide, the final slide includes a review section that connects and reviews the content covered in the lectures. Additionally, we provide section-by-section assignments and solutions so you can practice Tableau while studying on your own. Check your Tableau skills directly!
Detailed Curriculum
The course is divided into 4 main parts.
Part 1.
Understanding Basic Tableau Concepts
This covers the basic concepts that Tableau has. We'll prepare for the next part by doing terminology organization on Dimension vs Measure / Discrete vs Continuous, etc.
Part 2.
Data Analysis
You will learn step-by-step about basic Tableau charts (e.g., Bar chart, Line chart, Scatterplot, Map, etc.) and the Tableau features applied on top of them.
Since it covers various visualization methods and detailed analysis, this part is the most important. If you complete Part 1-2, you'll have the skills to independently analyze moderately-sized data like Excel datasets.
Part 3.
Sharing Insights
This covers Tableau's unique methods for effectively sharing insights discovered through data with others.
The ultimate goal of analyzing data is eventually to share the insights we've discovered with others. We will learn how to share the insights found through the content learned up to Part 2 using Tableau's Dashboard and Story features.
Part 4.
Data Connection
You will learn about methods needed when combining two or more data files. Since most people work with a single data file, this content may not be necessary for all students, but let's learn about new features that can be useful to master without any burden.

Q. What are the benefits of learning Tableau?
When data exceeds just 5 items, it becomes difficult to grasp its meaning with the naked eye. With thousands or tens of thousands of data points, it's nearly impossible to understand the overall picture without the help of tools. However, once you learn Tableau, you can grasp the characteristics of big data at a glance with just a few clicks. You can even experience the joy of discovering fresh insights that pop up each time you apply different methods.

Yes, this course is for beginners. You can approach Tableau like the feeling of learning Excel for the first time with clicks!
