💡 Instructor's thoughts on why Amplitude is loved

  • Google Analytics based on page views vs. Amplitude based on customer behavior (events). Of course, GA is also moving towards event-based behavior through GA4, etc., but I would like to give Amplitude a vote in terms of usability.
  • Intuitive UI, visualization all at once! If you have basic SQL knowledge, Amplitude can easily preprocess data through the UI. This is immediately converted into various visualization charts, shortening the time to understand data before data analysis. Of course, it is good to utilize BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI because advanced visualization is needed, but Amplitude's big advantage is that it can process large amounts of data in real time and connect to visualization all at once.
  • Full data processing speed. Amplitude can display results in just a few seconds even when sending complex queries in the form required for large volumes of full data. Since it handles full data rather than sampled data, data reliability is also guaranteed compared to GA, which has sampling issues.
