Penetration Testing Job Interview 🧐
Wondering how to prepare?

Have you chosen a career in penetration testing (consulting) among the various IT security professions? When you look at the courses and books available, there is an overwhelming amount to study. You start with the basics, such as systems, networks, and the web, and go on to learn hacking and various security technologies. You may study for several months or even years through vocational training, but when you actually apply to a company and attend an interview, it is easy to feel like you have hit a wall. This is because what interviewers are looking for is usually different from the direction you prepared for.

In such cases, you should set clear goals for your preparation and develop the skills you need beyond technical knowledge. As you improve your presentation and report-writing abilities, you should also prepare yourself to be ready to join a project immediately after being hired.

I considered both the perspectives of job seekers and hiring managers.

This course truthfully presents the process I went through while preparing for a career as a penetration testing consultant, the methods I wanted to share with junior colleagues based on my experience of getting hired by large corporations and financial institutions, and the questions I ask and competencies I look for when hiring employees as the current head of a penetration testing consulting business.

I have met with many job seekers and worked hard to ensure I didn’t miss anything as I answered their questions one by one, creating this content by reconstructing my answers based on my own experience.

Studying without a clear direction is bound to become exhausting over time. By understanding penetration testing work and preparing with a clear direction, you can successfully begin the work you want to do.

It was good that you explained in detail the scope and nature of the work of the mock hacking manager and the security manager, and the differences between them. Good luck with the security project!!!

I am leaving this because I felt it was lacking after taking the Shielders Rookies course. I really hope it goes well.
