Advantages 1. You can learn core features such as asynchronous loading, CSV file loading, saving and loading play records, currency management, audio, scene transitions, etc., by implementing the foundational features for game development from scratch. 2. Resources and prefabs are precisely separated and provided for each lecture. Since you only bring in the resources needed for that lecture, there's no duplication with resources provided in later lectures. You can immediately learn in the same environment as the instructor without needing to import resources from external sources, so students have no stress related to downloading and organizing resources for the course. 3. The resource quality is excellent enough to be used as-is for commercial game releases. 4. Whether it's clean video editing or not, there's almost no work of deleting or modifying existing code during code writing (even if there is, it's all corrected right before testing), with a clean progression method of completing one script, working in the editor, and moving on to the next script. 5. The default video playback speed is sufficient to follow along while typing. Mixed 1. If you expected a lecture on game frameworks, it's satisfying, but if you expected a lecture on the overall usage of the Unity engine, it's somewhat disappointing. Since completed prefabs are provided, students cannot learn how to create and use UI. You can only learn up to writing scripts and connecting scripts to UI. 2. While the game framework completion is excellent, there are occasionally parts that need refactoring (Inventory, Equipment). There's no problem with functionality, but there are situations that could be handled cleanly with data structures. 3. Comments are rarely used and explanations are simple. While there's the advantage of hearing only clean conclusions, there are occasionally parts where you wonder "why? how?" the structure was designed. I think the learning difficulty is extremely high for Unity learning beginners or game programming novices. Disadvantages 1. Because you receive completed prefabs, while it's easy to quickly build up content, there's a high possibility of struggling with your own features or extensions. The direction the course aims for is too clear (to provide a framework that can create any mobile game in the shortest time), and the instructor cleanly provides all the necessary preparations for learning, so it's flawless for people who really want to make games quickly.
Hello! This is BurningCarrot. Thank you for your detailed review. I'll make sure to reference the shortcomings you pointed out when creating new lectures. If there's anything you don't understand, please feel free to ask questions anytime.
I'm enjoying the lectures. Looking forward to the next one.
