As a graduate student who needs to study English consistently, one of the tools I use most often these days is ChatGPT. I use it for a wide variety of things, from translation and refining sentences to conversational phrases. Recently, I discovered and took a free lecture on Inflearn titled "How to Study English with ChatGPT." First, the biggest advantage of this lecture is that it helps you approach English study from a practical, rather than memorization-focused, perspective. It doesn't teach stiff expressions from textbooks but focuses on how to get ChatGPT to provide natural English that native speakers actually use. This made it perfect for someone like me who needs to prepare for writing papers or academic presentations. In particular, the recommended prompts for different situations were well-organized, making it easy for beginners to follow. Providing a prompt PDF was also useful for later review. However, there were some points I found lacking. Since the lecture generally focuses on a basic level, some content might feel a bit familiar to those who have already used ChatGPT to some extent. For someone like me who has already experimented with applying prompts, I thought it would be better if intermediate-level or more diverse case studies were included. For example, it would have been more practical if more advanced usage examples, such as refining academic expressions or writing a thesis abstract in English, were included. Nevertheless, overall, I was satisfied with the clean structure and how it delivered the core points in a short amount of time. Especially for those who haven't actively used ChatGPT for English study yet, this lecture will allow you to experience a new way of learning. Thanks to this lecture, I feel I can now use more sophisticated prompts to improve my English skills in the future. Since it's a free lecture, there's no burden, and I recommend it to anyone interested in practical English!
