I wonder if this is an introductory course... It seems like you need to have some basic knowledge of network concepts. It would have been nice if the lecture introduction had said that you need to have some knowledge of network concepts in advance. The explanation is too abstract and short, so I don't get the feel for it at all.
It seems a bit strange to say that you don't know about networks while studying AWS! Since it's an AWS introductory course, the lecture focuses on getting started with AWS, but I think you should naturally know about networks and operating systems like Linux before taking the lecture!
