A PDF guidebook filled with tips and preparation procedures for getting a job as a web publisher!
Get one step closer to your goals!

The real practical guide to getting a job as a publisher includes not only tips and tricks for getting a job as a publisher, but also
It is composed of content that allows you to learn and prepare in advance the practical skills that you will have a hard time learning in the early stages of employment.

I came across this article on the internet. Wow, what a great saying. Try until you succeed! When I see this, I feel like I'm overflowing with a spirit of challenge and it sounds like a really great saying, but personally, how cruel is this saying? I wonder how hard it must be for the person actually doing it. How pitiful is it to see people around me doing something that doesn't work until they succeed? It's also a shame to see people who can do it but end up wasting time, money, and passion by going in the wrong direction. It goes without saying that if that's you.

So, the word success is a bit ambiguous, but for now, let's think of it as ' publisher employment '. And ' The Real Practical Guide to Publisher Employment ' will help you get closer to your goal of publisher employment a little faster.

📔 Course Introduction

The Publisher Job Real Guide course is a course consisting of e-book (PDF) content.

I created this product with the hope of minimizing trial and error after seeing people who were just starting out as publishers wasting time through trial and error.

I believe that this book contains all the publishing know-how that I have learned from teaching over 100 students while working as a nationally funded publishing course instructor for the past two years. This is a publisher employment guide written by someone who has sufficient practical experience and teaching experience, and who has helped people get jobs at publishers, not from the perspective of a student preparing for a publisher job.

We have organized the essentials for practical work, focusing on preparing students who know nothing to get a job as a publisher, from the basics of coding to intermediate to advanced publishing skills and even creating a personal portfolio homepage.

The publisher employment real guide course contains the contents of the e-book (PDF)...

It thoroughly covers everything from the job understanding and mindset needed to work as a publisher to the 'publishing basics improvement skills' that will allow even a beginner to publish like an experienced person. If you look at the section table of contents and detailed contents, you will understand better, but it contains essential information that you need to know to get a job as a publisher, such as not only publishing like an experienced person, but also tips on creating a personal portfolio homepage, how to write a resume as a publisher, how to improve web UI design skills, and detailed explanations of the nationally supported publishing process.

📔 Why is this course an e-book rather than a video?

I'm going to talk about why the publisher employment guide is an e-book and not a video.
Before making the e-book of the publisher employment practical guide, I started making it as a video. As I was making it in the beginning, I felt that there were too many things that I had recorded and missed, so I felt that I had no time to record it again and again. So I started thinking about making it as an e-book rather than a video, and I think it was a good choice. Before typing, I thought about what I was going to say, what vocabulary I was going to use, and how much I was going to use, and I wrote it, so I felt much more stable and wrote well.

There is a reason why I am telling you this. Before writing this book, when students asked me to recommend a publishing textbook, I would say, “Who studies by reading books these days? Study by watching YouTube or Inflearn videos.” However, as I wrote this e-book, I realized that although videos are convenient, they don’t allow me to think and ponder. I thought that students would also be able to read this e-book and think and ponder their plans and attitudes toward employment as publishers.

When I first planned the Publishing Employment Practical Guide, I spent several days surfing the web to find some sources, but I couldn't find any. After that, I had two thoughts.

First of all, that's why people preparing to become publishers are having a hard time because they can't find a direction.
Second, since there are no sources on the Internet, I have to create all the content purely with my own efforts.

📔 Reason for production

I often get questions from students who have attended or completed unsatisfactory government-funded publishing courses, either through email or YouTube comments, about what to prepare for in order to get a job as a publisher. However, since this is a topic that cannot be explained in a few sentences, I felt regretful even though I was able to give a brief explanation. That is why I thought I should prepare a guide to getting a job as a publisher.

and...

Sometimes, a student I taught sends me a KakaoTalk message like the one below, saying that he or she got a job at a publisher. It’s not that often, but I feel proud when I receive a KakaoTalk message like this. I wanted to share the method I used to help students who knew nothing get jobs as publishers while working as a nationally funded publishing course instructor for the past two years with people who are preparing to get a job at a publisher but don’t know where to start.

📔 Provides a functional definition document (PDF) for publishing the entire website

When creating an entire website, the most systematic way is to proceed as follows: [UI design → Function definition document writing → Publishing]. However, there are many cases where publishing is done without writing a function definition document. If publishing is done without writing a function definition document, consistency may be lacking. In particular, if the HTML structure and CSS class names are not determined in advance, it is very likely that systematic publishing will be difficult.

If you look at and refer to the example of the function definition for publishing the entire website, you can systematically publish in practice.

🙋🏻‍♂️ Expected questions related to the lecture

Q) Do I need any prior knowledge before reading this e-book, <Publisher Job Real Practical Guide (PDF)>?
A) Not necessary at all. If you are interested in working for a publisher or publishing, that is fine.

Q) I am working as a new publisher or new web designer. Do I need this book?
A) The main content of this book is about how to develop publishing fundamentals and principles. I think publishing fundamentals means the know-how to publish like an experienced person, and it is essential for those who are currently working.

Q) How many pages and what is the content of this e-book, <Publisher Job Real Practical Guide (PDF)>?
A) The total number of pages is 159. And the content is 100% created by Coding Works. There is absolutely no material copied from the Internet and processed. The coding screen, each letter, and the captured screen are all purely created by Coding Works. In other words, I am confident that it is not composed of common content that anyone can do on the Internet.
Sometimes, when I look at e-books, I see that the top, bottom, left, and right margins take up a third of the screen. However, Coding Works' <Publisher Employment Real Practical Guide (PDF)> has meticulously written text and content, as shown in the previous book's content capture screen above.

Q) Are there any other contents besides this e-book <Publisher Job Real Practical Guide (PDF)>?
A) In the book <Publisher Employment Real Practical Guide (PDF)>, in [Section 6. The Beginning and Completion of Publishing! HTML Structure Wireframe], there are missions to create HTML structure wireframes. There is content where you can download the completed version of the mission and compare it with the wireframe you created. The method is described in detail in the book.

Q) Are there any updates after downloading this e-book, <Publisher Job Real Practical Guide (PDF)>?
A) Due to the nature of e-books, there are no frequent updates. However, if there is content that needs to be known as a publisher employment guide, the PDF file will be revised and uploaded. There will be almost no updates that revise existing content. If there is an update with additional content, we will immediately inform you through the news, including what additional content there is.

🙋🏻‍♂️ About the basics of publishing...

If you have good publishing fundamentals, you will be able to get a job quickly. And you will be recognized while working.
But, the basics of publishing may seem vague, but they are not.
If you have good publishing fundamentals, you will naturally develop good habits if you don't do things you shouldn't do when coding. Then, you will be told that you have good publishing fundamentals.

Especially when you look at the code of new employees preparing for employment at a publisher, you often see that their basic coding skills are a mess.
However, not knowing how wrong your code is is the main reason why you cannot get a job as a publisher .
That's because you didn't learn the basics of publishing properly. If you knew, you could fix it right away.

The book, Publisher Job Real Practical Guide (PDF), contains all the specific methods to improve the fundamentals of publishing.

🙋🏻‍♂️ Who created this publisher job guide?

My name is Coding Works.
I've been a web designer for a long time.
I transitioned to being a web publisher and worked in the field for a long time.
For the past two years, I have been teaching as a professional instructor in government-funded publishing courses, and I have been recognized for that.
I've been running a YouTube publishing lecture channel called Coding Works for the past three years.
Since the beginning of this year, I have been teaching web design technician practical exam courses, publishing practice example production courses, and responsive website production courses at Inflearn.

We have been working hard to create lectures with the hope that Coding Works students will achieve their goals during difficult times.
The 'Publisher Employment Practical Guide e-book' was created by someone who answers students' questions with that in mind.

❤ News of passing the publisher exam for Coding Works students

▲ A student who studied under me for about 4 and a half months in a nationally funded publishing course received a KakaoTalk message saying that he got a job.

▲ I received a KakaoTalk message about the interview results for students who took the offline course on creating a personal portfolio at Coding Works (April 24, 2023).

❤ Email sent by a Coding Works student after getting a job at a publisher

Hello teacher :)

Teacher, I am Kim O-jeong, a student who was taking Inflearn's lectures.
I am a student who sent an email this summer asking for advice on my personal portfolio.
Do you remember?😊😊

It's nothing else than,
I'm sending this email to tell you that I successfully landed a job at a publisher with the portfolio I received advice on from you!

Even!!
The company contacted me first after seeing the portfolio I posted on Saramin, and I was interviewed via Zoom and passed!
The company matched my desired salary, and I was able to join a company where I could do only publisher work, not design or development work.

It was a company looking for an experienced publisher, and they contacted me, a new employee, and asked me why they contacted me.
He said that he looked at a lot of other people's portfolios, but he contacted me because the "Functional Definition" in my portfolio caught his eye.

I think this is all thanks to the teacher's lectures.
If I hadn't taken the teacher's class, my portfolio would have just been ordinary, but I was able to successfully get a job thanks to the great tips the teacher gave me!

Although I have never actually met him,
While creating my portfolio, I relied on it a lot, trusted it, and worked hard while watching the teacher's lectures!

I feel like my skills have improved a lot in the three months I spent listening to the teacher's lectures and creating a portfolio, more than the skills I built up while taking long classes at the academy.

I desperately wanted it,
I believed and did as the teacher said and the results were really good.

Thank you so much!

Be careful of corona
I hope to see you again with another great lecture :)

Hello teacher~ I'm Inflearn student OOO~ I found out the email address from another student's answer..😊😊

I just wanted to say thank you 😊😊

I've had a hard time taking your class and submitting my resume for about two weeks now...
I passed the interview at a company and decided to come to work.. Thank you so much..😭😭

Actually, I was worried because I'm 32 years old. I submitted a lot of resumes, but I didn't get any calls.
But this company's HR manager said that he doesn't like people who graduated from private academies 😊😊
The company I decided to join is small, but it has developers and web designers.
They said they would train them for three months and then put them into practice.
It's a bit far and the salary is low, but I'm going to study hard and try to increase my salary~ 😊😊

Thank you so much for everything. You answered my questions so well, and I am so amazed that I got a job after taking this online class.

I will continue to study and improve my skills by listening to your lectures. Fighting~!

🙋🏻‍♂️ Please read before asking questions~!!

If you have any questions while learning, please ask. When asking questions, you must upload the content that is not working, the code, and a screenshot of the browser result. In the case of code, you must upload all HTML, CSS, and JS codes so that we can give you an accurate answer.

If you only describe your problem in text without any code in your question, it will be difficult to give you an accurate answer unless it is really simple. Then, I will have no choice but to reply again saying, 'Please upload HTML, CSS, JS code and browser capture~', which will be cumbersome and take more time to find a solution.
