I needed a lecture that focused on the fundamentals. I think I found a good one. The three things I especially liked were: First, it covered all the important basics that I'd be too embarrassed to ask about. Second, I liked the way vague messages were structured into key messages. Third, your tone was comfortable. I'll make good use of what I learned and become even sharper. Thank you.

In our current team, document creation and presentations play a very important role. Although I had previously believed I had extensive relevant experience, this course allowed me to reflect on myself and realize what I had been missing in fundamental aspects. By attending the lecture with a humble mindset, I gained confidence that I would be able to improve to a more advanced level going forward. Thank you for the insightful lecture.

The Dignity of Reports, Part Three
[Expressing Thoughts] for Perfect Document Writing😀

The process from document (planning papers, proposals, reports—hereafter referred to as reports) writing to reporting
largely consists of four stages.

  • First, accurately understand the work instructions from the person assigning the task (supervisor), and

  • Second, organize the instructed content according to a logical flow (development, data collection, etc.), and

  • Third, express your thoughts as slides according to each logical structure (table of contents, etc.).

  • Finally, based on the work completed, you proceed with the reporting task (or presentation).

In other words, if a problem occurs in any one of the four steps mentioned above, your report will become a so-called 'rejected report'. That is, you will end up writing a report with low work productivity. Therefore, I have synthesized the above contents to create a lecture titled "The Class of a Report."

  • PART 1. Understanding the Work

  • PART 2. Construction of Logic

  • PART 3. Expression of Thoughts (Expressing through PowerPoint Slides)

  • PART 4. Reporting Techniques

💡 This course is the third story of The Dignity of Reports, 'PART 3: Expression of Thoughts'.

Principles of PowerPoint Slide Design

To express your thoughts on an actual slide, you must understand the principles of slide design. You will learn the working principles of PowerPoint slides for practical tasks, ranging from adjusting slide sizes based on the type of work to subdividing the workspace.

Diverse Methods for Visualizing Thoughts

Various types of information are used to express your thoughts. Tables, graphs, images, and schematics are utilized. However, to use each type of information accurately, you will identify the unique characteristics of the information and systematically learn the principles of work and methods of creation.

The Principles and Methods of Business
Writing

Business writing involves a process different from simply transcribing speech into text. There are many considerations, from structuring the content you want to express to selecting appropriate vocabulary and using a communication style that incorporates specific figures. I hope this lecture helps clear up any uncertainty you may have regarding these aspects.

Principles for Improving Document

A document is considered readable when there is a specific point you want to emphasize or claim on a slide, and that content is expressed in a way that is visually clear. Frequently Asked Questions

💡 Frequently Asked Questions

  1. I am a beginner at writing documents (plans, proposals, reports, etc.). Can I still take the course?

    • Of course. It is possible. In fact, it is even better for those who are beginners at report writing or want to learn it properly. Since report writing is a process of creating a single document, a functional understanding is required during the writing process. We have structured the content systematically so that such details can be easily understood.

  2. Does it also include methods for logical development in document writing or content related to presentations?

    • No. This course focuses on expressing your thoughts on actual PowerPoint slides

The learning focuses on the methods and processes of expressing your thoughts. Therefore, you must watch other parts of the lecture for topics such as the logical development of documents.

  3. Is the content of the other parts of the lecture difficult?

    • It is not difficult at all. The videos are designed with a short tempo, lasting around 5 to 10 minutes each. In other words, they are structured to be easy to follow. Furthermore, the slide content is written in as much detail as possible so that you can fully understand the material just by looking at the slides, even in environments where you cannot listen to the audio.

  4. Do I need to take the other parts of "The Dignity of Reports" as well?

    • Not necessarily. You can selectively take any of the four parts of "The Dignity of Reports" based on the areas where you feel you need improvement. However, since those who struggle with reporting often face structural difficulties in multiple areas rather than just one, we recommend taking at least two or more parts.
