Student's concerns🤔
✅ I regularly hear the question, “What kind of book can I publish?” ✅ I have nothing to write about, but I'm wondering what to write on the next page. ✅ I have a vague sense of anxiety about whether I can really publish a book.
The ordinary office workers who have taken this course have also gone through this arduous process. Through this agonizing process, their own convictions and the careful consideration given to each line of writing build, ultimately completing a book. All the steps and processes are outlined in the course, so all you have to do is express and refine your convictions in writing. Take on the challenge with confidence.
What you'll learn 📚
PART 1 Understanding Independent Publishing (Independent Publishing: A Challenge Worth Trying Once)
This section addresses the vagueness surrounding book publishing. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the self-publishing process, providing theoretical knowledge that anyone can consider pursuing. It also presents specific technical approaches required for publishing.
PART 2: Core InDesign Features for Publishing
Learn the practical theories necessary for book production, with a particular focus on utilizing InDesign, a publishing program. While learning the program, you'll learn essential publishing features like how to set book specifications, understanding bleeds and margins, inserting photos, masters, and paragraph styles.
PART 3: InDesign Features for Improved Readability (Breathing Life into a Bland Design)
In Part 2, you learned the functional skills of InDesign necessary for publishing. In Part 3, you'll learn the technical skills that will enhance the readability of your book. It's like decorating an interior in architecture. This course focuses on ways to enhance the readability of your book. Specifically, it focuses on creating design quality that readers will find valuable when purchasing from a commercial perspective. Even though this is an independent publication, you want your book to feel like it was created by a professional rather than one that feels too amateurish.
PART 4Understanding Publishing Printing (Printing Process and General Theory)
You'll learn the general theory of printing, publishing, editing, and proofreading. You'll learn in detail about which paper is appropriate for which book, what size to use, where to order printing, how to proofread and proofread, and how to deliver your work to the printer for printing.
PART 5Publishing Distribution and Marketing (Importance After Publication)
Now that your book has been printed, it's time to share it with the world. To do so, you need to go through the publishing and distribution process to get it out to a wide audience. We'll share various marketing know-how, including how to distribute it to bookstores, how to market it, and even how to access government support programs.
Expected Questions Q&A 💬
Q. Why one month?
You can easily acquire the information and programs necessary for book publishing in a month. Of course, a longer writing period will undoubtedly result in a more complete work. However, a longer writing period doesn't necessarily guarantee a better work. The level of immersion and focus determines the quality of the book. For those of you who don't write books for a living, spending months on the project will likely lead to a higher chance of giving up. That's why I've created a curriculum that allows you to quickly produce a finished sample book in a month. First, learn quickly within a month, and then invest time to improve the quality. That's the way to create a work you'll be satisfied with. For this process, abandon the concepts of "slow" and "long."
Q. Can you really write a book in a month?
Even during the actual offline lectures, I conducted them over a one-month period. Over the course of about two years, I had about 200 students. Of these, 30% completed a dummy book (sample book) within a month, and 30% completed the book within three to six months. In other words, your results will vary depending on your dedication. If you follow the curriculum, you'll at least be able to see the offline reality you're envisioning. I hope you don't give up.
Q. I'm a beginner who has never used InDesign before. Can I still take the course?
It's possible. Since the lectures focus solely on the core features required for publishing, unnecessary material has been omitted to reduce the learning burden. The lectures progress relatively slowly, so if you follow along step by step, you won't find it difficult at all.
Q. Is there anything I need to prepare before attending the lecture?
As explained in the Prerequisites, you must install Adobe InDesign before beginning Chapter 2. (Prerequisites)
Q. Are there any offline classes?
This course is an online version of an offline lecture, so there are no separate offline lectures. However, there is a meeting for authors who have taken my course and created books. If there are any authors who have completed their actual book after taking this course, I will arrange a separate meeting. (I usually pay for the first meeting. ^^)
Things to note before taking the course 📢
Practice environment
The software uses the 'InDesign' program from Adobe Creative Cloud.
If you are using an older version of InDesign (offline version), there is no problem, but InDesign in the cloud version incurs a separate usage fee.
When you first sign up for an Adobe ID, you can use a one-month free trial. Therefore, you can use the free trial for the first month before deciding whether to pay.
Note
Since this is an online lecture, individual Q&A will not be conducted.
The copyright for this lecture (video, edited material, etc.) belongs to Selfupbook.

This was a lecture that helped me understand my own book publishing at a glance, which was vague, so the information was very helpful. Also, about half of the lecture was about how to use the InDesign program, and it was explained very easily, so it was good because I understood it well.
It was really helpful. It was concise but systematic, so I feel confident that I can do it. Now I will listen to the lectures several times and try it myself, and then write my own book and leave a review.
Hello. I'm so glad it was helpful.^^
Creating a book requires more ups and downs in life than writing. Among them, let me talk briefly about the mind part.
As mentioned in the lecture, there will be many distractions when creating a book. Company dinners, gatherings with friends, housework,
personal hobbies, etc...
But the biggest distraction among them is yourself. 'Can I make a book?' 'I'll make it slowly next time.'
'What kind of book am I? You will have internal distractions. And they are very powerful. This is because the human brain originally pursues what is easy. If you yourself are distracting yourself, please read the 'mira's comment' that you just wrote.
And check the emotions and feelings you had when you wrote the comment. In the end, if you keep the original mindset until the end, even if it takes time, you will definitely create a book with mira's name. You can trust me on that. I will definitely make the book. And in the next review, please show me what the finished book will look like.
