Simple and clear lecture structure 🪜

1. Installing and reviewing QGIS

We will install QGIS, the world's most actively used free GIS software, and provide a brief explanation before using the program.

2. Check the practice data

We introduce V World, a platform that provides data for free, and the public data portal , and we download and examine the data to be used in practice in detail.

3. QGIS visualization practice

Using the downloaded data, we visualize a map showing the vote counting results for the 20th presidential election by city, county, and district.

This part will actually give you hands-on experience with QGIS, covering the most actively used data joining, symbol visualization, legend editing, etc.

(The map on the right shows the results of the 20th presidential election vote counting, which is the final result of this lecture)

Things to note before taking the class

PC environment

  • QGIS may take different amounts of time depending on the data used, analysis functions, and user PC environment.

  • This lecturer filmed the lecture and practiced the QGIS program on a Windows operating system PC.

Learning Materials

  • All learning materials utilize public data available on the Internet, and are provided to students after preprocessing the data so that they can be used immediately for practical training.

  • The source of the data is written in the learning material "source.txt" file.

  • You can download the practice and lecture materials from Lesson 1.
