Node.js Textbook

This is a video lecture covering the contents of the Node.js textbook (Gilbut). You will learn about what a node is, its API, npm, module system, database, etc., and create a project with 5 practical examples. Finally, you will finish by deploying to GCP and AWS. You will learn the contents of the 664-page book in 1,500 minutes of video. You can view the first 8 chapters of the Node textbook for free at thebook.io, so we recommend that you view them together.

Revised Edition/Renewal Notice

As the revised edition of the Node textbook is released, this course is also being prepared for renewal . However, it is expected to take time until after Chuseok (the renewed course will be newly posted on Inflearn in October). Currently, the renewed lectures 1-6 are being released on YouTube, and Q&A is also being received on YouTube. However, even after the renewed course is released, lectures 7-16 will still be released only on Inflearn. Those who have purchased the existing Node textbook course will be provided with a half-price coupon.

Learning Objectives

  • After learning the core concepts of Node, you'll be ready to dive into practice with real-world examples.

The advantage of my course is Q&A. If you have a question, I will answer it within a day. It is more helpful to study actively by freely asking questions about the course content rather than just watching the course. If there is something in the course that is not explained well or you do not understand, feel free to ask questions at any time. It is also helpful to read the questions that other people have already asked.

Helpful people

  • If you are a front-end developer but want to expand your horizons to the back-end side
  • Anyone who wants to learn Node in advance to create desktop or mobile applications in JavaScript
  • For those of you who are curious about how to use nodes in practice
  • For those who want to watch the Node.js textbook with video lectures

The difficulty level needs to be adjusted. Beginners shouldn't see this course as their main course. I took Inflearn's lectures as positively as possible. Because most of them are free courses and most of them are new to online lectures. And I didn't think of them as my main learning, but as a sub-learning tool, so I took them lightly. However, this course is a paid course with a textbook, but it doesn't take into account the listeners. If you understand this course in one go, I don't think you need to take this course. The course itself is quite fast-paced and really crazy. "You know this and that, right?" So I watched it twice or more to understand, and if I really didn't understand, I often had to check the related references on the Internet again to understand. Because of that, I think the difficulty level is higher. I think it's suitable for beginners or higher. In conclusion, it's an expensive course that requires you to buy a textbook. It's true that the lecturer is high-level. But from the perspective of the viewer, it didn't feel like it was at the beginner level indicated, and it just felt like it was progressing mindlessly.

You explain it well, but it seems like it's difficult to create a server, and it seems like it's progressing too quickly. It's hard to understand.

I don't think there is a Node.js course of this quality in Korea. I'm reading along with the book and it's a really good lecture.

It was really great that I was able to learn various knowledge about backend development (DB, API, SOCKET, Authorization, etc.). Of course, there were some difficult parts, but I think that learning this knowledge through online lectures and textbooks is like a shortcut. The development version changes every year, so there are parts where errors occur, but I think that you have to Google this much. And since the answers to questions usually don't take more than a day, I felt that they are constantly paying attention.
