<From Scratch: Building and Learning LLMs> Commentary Lecture
This is a course covering the GitHub notebooks and bonus content from <Build a Large Language Model from Scratch> (Gilbut, 2025). GitHub: https://github.com/rickiepark/llm-from-scratch/ <Build a Large Language Model from Scratch> is the Korean translation of the bestseller <Build a Large Language Model (from Scratch)> (Manning, 2024) by Sebastian Raschka. This book provides a way to learn and utilize the operating principles of large language models by building a complete model starting from scratch with OpenAI's GPT-2 model.

Hello. I'm Haesun Park.
It's been a while, but I'm happy to announce the publication of a new book.
<AI and Machine Learning for Coders> author Laurence Moroney's new book <Llama 2 and Beyond: A Guide to LLMs with PyTorch> has been published!

The previous book focused on deep learning applications using the TensorFlow ecosystem. This book uses PyTorch instead of TensorFlow and focuses on generative AI, such as LLMs and diffusion models. It is now available at online and offline bookstores! The e-book has also been released! 🙂
Now available at online bookstores. [Kyobo Book Centre] [Yes24] [Aladin] [Hanbit Media]

Hello. I'm Haesun Park.
Wishing everyone lots of blessings in 2026! 🙂
The main content explanation for the "Machine Learning, Just the Essentials!" course has been completed. Following that, "Large Language Models, Just the Essentials!" will also be fully completed soon. The good news is that author Andriy Burkov has given permission to use the supplementary content from the original book's wiki in the courses. Explanations about this content will be added to both courses, so please look forward to it! Following these two books, the "LLM Fine-Tuning" book will be published soon. I will inform you again when pre-orders begin.
Also, this time through Insight Publishing, I'm sending you a discount coupon for the "Learn PyTorch Deep Learning in 10 Days" course on Inflearn. Please take a moment to browse the course and purchase it at a discounted price if you need it. I hope this will be helpful to anyone who was planning to take a course like this!

Have a great afternoon. Thank you!
Hello. I'm Park Haeseon.
I caught the flu, so I think I'll need to postpone the lecture that was scheduled to be produced starting this weekend by a few days. I apologize for the disruption to the lecture updates. I ask for your understanding.
Thank you.
Hello. I'm Park Haeseon.
Finally, the lectures covering the main content and code from chapters 1 to 7 have been completed! 😀The Build a Large Language Model (From Scratch) course includes concept summaries (YouTube videos) and source code explanations, covering everything up to the final instruction fine-tuning.
But that's not the end! The original book's GitHub is packed with rich bonus content. Starting with this book's appendix, I'll create and upload lectures covering bonus content like hidden gems.
The first target is Appendix A PyTorch Introduction. Many readers have expressed disappointment about the lack of video lectures covering PyTorch. I'm glad we get to cover PyTorch with this opportunity. This lecture is scheduled to be uploaded starting from the fourth week of November. Please look forward to it! 😄
Thank you!
P.S: This course is scheduled to have a price increase soon. Don't be surprised if you see the increased price. Of course, existing students are completely unaffected by the price change and will be able to access all future additional content just as they do now.
Hello. I'm Park Haeseon.
Are you having a pleasant weekend? 🙂 I have news about a new book publication to share with you.

The Hundred-Page book series written by Andriy Burkov, who led the machine learning team at Gartner, has been published through Insight Publishing! Both <The Hundred-Page Machine Learning Book> and <The Hundred-Page Language Models Book> are bestsellers that gained high popularity on LeanPub and Amazon. These two books have been released as <Machine Learning, Just the Essentials!> and <Large Language Models, Just the Essentials!> respectively.
These two books thoroughly explore the true nature of machine learning and large language models through theory and examples. Although they are relatively thin books of about 200 pages, their style of progressing step by step from basic mathematical theory to reach the summit is remarkably honest and excellently captures the essence. I recommend them to everyone who wants to experience the fundamentals of machine learning and large language models! They are currently available for pre-order at online bookstores. 🙂

-- P.S.: If you enroll in the <Building and Learning LLM from Scratch> GitHub + bonus content commentary lecture during this week (2025.10.17~2025.10.26), we will randomly select four people to receive
and as gifts. Thank you for your interest! Hello. I'm Park Haeseon.
The "Build an LLM from Scratch + GitHub + Bonus Content Commentary" lecture has been uploaded up to Chapter 4. This lecture provides explanations based on GitHub Jupyter notebooks. I think it would be much more helpful if you watch it together with the book and YouTube videos.
The lecture content will be created by first producing YouTube lectures corresponding to the main explanations for each chapter, followed by subsequent production. For example, it will follow a pattern like: Chapter 5 YouTube lecture --> Chapter 5 GitHub content lecture --> Chapter 6 YouTube lecture --> Chapter 6 GitHub content lecture, and so on.
More than one chapter is being updated every week, so it seems like the course will be completed soon. After Chapter 7, I will also create and upload commentary on the appendix and bonus content available on GitHub (this lecture will not be uploaded to YouTube).
I hope you enjoy Chapter 4 as well, and please feel free to contact us through Inflearn anytime if you have any questions.
Thank you! 🙂
