Four Pillars Yin-Yang Theory: Building a Foundation for Four Pillars Interpretation from a Relativistic Perspective

Develop practical interpretation skills by accurately understanding the yin-yang concept underlying Four Pillars of Destiny from a relativistic perspective, from distinguishing the yin and yang attributes of the heavenly stems and earthly branches to assessing the yin-yang balance within a saju chart. This training corrects the common misconception that yang is good and yin is bad, and provides perspective-adjustment exercises for interpreting yin-yang imbalances as strengths and weaknesses.

What you will gain after the course

  • Learn the principle of yin-yang relativity and how to distinguish yin and yang in the 22 celestial stems and earthly branches.

  • Count the yin-yang elements in your saju and interpret the meaning of any imbalance as strengths and weaknesses.

  • Correcting Three Key Misconceptions, Including the Yin-Yang Hierarchy Theory and Gender Stereotypes

Is spring yang or yin?

Compared to winter, it is yang. Compared to summer, it is yin. If you miss this one point, everything you learn from here on out will be off.

Lesson 2. Yin and Yang · A Perspective for Viewing the World in Two Parts

The twenty-two characters used in saju are all divided into yin and yang. The rule is simple. From the very first character, yang and yin alternate, so there is nothing to memorize.

So this lecture spends more time on relativity than on the definition of yin and yang. If you understand yin and yang as fixed labels, you will continue to get confused later, both with the Five Elements and the Ten Gods. Today’s goal is to grasp the sense that the same character can change depending on what is placed next to it.

At the end of the lecture, we will count the yin and yang of the eight characters in your saju ourselves. This is the first time you will classify your natal chart.

We will cover the following topics

  • Definition of yin and yang · Two qualities that are opposites yet simultaneously need each other

  • Yin and Yang in Everyday Life · Eight Pairs You Already Know, Such as Day and Night, Speaking and Listening

  • Relativity of Yin and Yang · Why the same thing reverses depending on the basis of comparison

  • Three Common Misconceptions · Clarifying the Misconceptions of Superiority, Gender, and a 50/50 Split

  • Yin and yang of the ten heavenly stems · How to remember them grouped as Jia and Yi Wood, Bing and Ding Fire

  • The Yin-Yang of the Twelve Earthly Branches · Even Where the Table and Actual Interpretations Diverge

  • People with strong yang energy and those with strong yin energy · Examining their strengths and weaknesses separately

  • The Strength of Yin and Yang in My Saju · Four-Step Practice and Criteria for Judging Imbalance

These three misconceptions are clarified

Yang is good and yin is bad
Day is not better than night. Having more yang makes you active, but unable to rest. Having more yin makes you calm, but slow to get started. Neither is superior.

Yang is male, and yin is female
Gender and yin-yang are separate concepts. A man's saju may contain a lot of yin, while a woman's saju may be full of yang. Yin and yang indicate the direction of one's temperament, not gender.

A fifty-fifty balance of yin and yang is ideal
A saju divided evenly into four yin and four yang elements is not necessarily a good saju. Balance is not about the numbers but about the flow, and a structure tilted to one side can instead become a distinct strength.

By the end of this course

  • You can explain in your own words why yin and yang are relative.

  • You can distinguish the yin and yang of the twenty-two characters of the heavenly stems and earthly branches without using a table.

  • You can count the number of yin and yang elements in your saju and determine which side it leans toward.

  • I can explain the strengths and weaknesses of my temperament through its structure.

  • You will learn specific ways to make up for what is lacking through your environment.

Hello, I'm Frank.

I am an infrastructure engineer who has been wrestling with servers for over 20 years. Starting with Linux server operations, I am now in charge of the cloud infrastructure for a large-scale payment service. My daily life involves migrating from data centers to AWS, managing hundreds of instances, and tracing the causes of failures in the early hours of the morning.

The reason I created this course is simple.

I often received questions like these from those around me: "I managed to connect to the server, but I don't know what to do next." "There are so many instance types; which one should I choose?" These are the exact same points where I got stuck at first. However, when I looked for resources, I found that most of them were written for people who already knew what they were doing.

So I decided to create the course I wish I had when I first started learning.

My lectures are based on three principles.

First, I help you understand rather than memorize. Instead of just listing commands, I explain why we use them in the first place.

Second, I boldly omit unnecessary content. I do not increase the volume by including information that is useless to beginners right now.

Third, I also talk about what doesn't work. Instead of just listing the pros, I clearly point out cases where it might not be a good fit. For someone who has to make decisions in the field, that is more important.

If you feel a sense of "Ah, I should start from here" after listening to the lecture, then my goal has been achieved.

Please feel free to leave any questions you may have at any time.
