Ansible 2.5

What's changed between 2.4 and 2.5? We'll review the changes with students who previously took the course and discuss how to write code accordingly. Since the most significant changes are in the network module, we'll use Cisco's NX-OS to determine if there's a difference between the previous code and the current one, and what improvements have been made.

Learning Objectives

  • You can write an ensemble for version 2.5.

Helpful people

  • For those wondering what the major differences are between Ensemble 2.4 and 2.5
  • Students who have previously taken the ensemble course

Required knowledge

Intermediate understanding of ensembles, a basic understanding of network operating systems, and a basic understanding of Linux commands.

Note

For those who have taken the existing ensemble ( basic , applied , advanced ), we provide an update on the changes from 2.4 to 2.5.

Cho Hoon

An engineer who enjoys system automation and simplification. Having worked at IBM and Cisco, I have a balanced perspective on systems and networks, which I hope to leverage to become a data center engineer. I enjoy developing useful scripts and tools that avoid repetitive tasks and reduce human error. In the new IT world, I believe that even system and network engineers should be familiar with at least one tool for automating and simplifying configuration management to ensure their own value. I am currently active in the Ansible Korea user group and maintain a personal blog. I am also the author of "Practical Python Programming for System and Network Administrators."

At Megazone, I serve as a Tech Evangelist and a member of the CoE (Center of Excellence), focusing on Kubernetes and container infrastructure. My primary role involves modernizing and optimizing the costs of the Kubernetes environments used in the company's SaaS products, while also providing Tech Advisory and Container Architecture Design support for external clients. As a Global Ambassador for the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), I contribute to the widespread adoption of cloud-native and AI-native technologies. Additionally, I serve as an organizer for the 'IT Infrastructure Engineer Group' and remain active as an open-source contributor.
I enjoy sharing knowledge, which has led me to teach courses on Ansible and Kubernetes on platforms like Inflearn and Udemy. Believing that knowledge truly gains meaning when documented, I have authored books such as "Kubernetes/Docker for Building Container Infrastructure Environments," "Elegant Ansible," and "Practical Python Programming for System/Network Administrators." I also frequently contribute articles to online platforms like YojeumIT.

If you lack basic knowledge, it's hard to understand. Of course, that's only natural...
