After carefully reviewing the course review I received 4 days ago, I thought that Apple users might be experiencing the same inconvenience, so I am posting this notice to ask for your understanding.
It may be difficult to set up a lab environment with Apple's current m1 chip.
At the time the course was created , only x86 (intel, amd) based CPUs were used.
The later released m1 chip has a different virtualization method than the x86-based CPU, so it is not possible to use VirtualBox to build a practice environment, and so the environment at the time of recording the lecture and later on are different.
We were expecting the creator of VirtualBox to make a version for m1.
The prevailing opinion is that it will be difficult because VirtualBox is based on the virtualization technology of the x86 chip.Current solution
1. Build your own practice environment by referring to the provided vagrant script.
2. Build a practice environment in a local environment using an Intel or AMD CPU rather than an m1 chip.
3. For those using the m1 chip , we will provide (or plan to provide) a script to build a practice environment on AWS using Terraform.
In case 3, cloud costs may be charged, as with Terraform or AWS courses, but we are exploring various methods. ㅠ
To those of you who use Apple's M1 chip , I would like to offer my sincere apologies .
thank you

hello:)
I am Kang Min-gu, an instructor who teaches classes and is very happy to read your reviews!
Recently, questions about setting up a practical environment have been coming up continuously, so today I took the time to update the vagrant script for setting up a practical virtual environment!
After checking, I found out that it was not a problem with the version of virtualbox or vagrant, but rather a problem caused by a difference in the centos image from the original.
So I changed the script to install RockeyLinux 8, a recent distribution that has the same code as the old centos.
I have confirmed that it works without any issues even in the latest version.
The version information for the program is as follows:
VirtualBOX 6.1.32
Vagrant 2.2.19
The updated script address is the same as before.
https://github.com/bashbomb/VWS_vagrant_script.git
Now you can build your own practice server quickly and easily.
thank you :)
