Level 2 Digital Forensic Expert Written Exam Study Methods
I'll be the ladder that helps you
climb over the wall of difficult exams 🪜
🫥 "I want to pass the exam, but I don't want to study hard."
😀 "I want to quickly memorize only the key content that will be on the exam so I can pass comfortably."
Anyone preparing for an exam thinks this way. The passing standard for the Digital Forensics Expert Level 2 written exam is 60 points. Those who score above 60 points pass, and those who don't fail.
Learning new content is not easy. Especially spending precious time on content that won't even appear on exams is incredibly inefficient. Some people get frustrated trying to study meticulously from the beginning and give up on the exam, while others only study the early parts and fail the exam because they couldn't study the important later sections.
I felt the same way. I wanted to study as efficiently as possible and pass with a score over 60 in a short period without too much struggle. That's why I decided to create this course.
The written exam consists of a total of 5 subjects. Since each subject requires knowledge across the entire field of computer engineering, the scope is very broad and there is a lot of material to study. Additionally, the difficulty level of the exam questions is similar to that of the Information Processing Engineer and Information Security Engineer certifications, making them quite challenging.
In particular, the Digital Forensics Introduction field is the most important part, accounting for 40% of this exam. This field is not covered by any other exam, and difficult-level questions that can only be known through practical experience beyond theoretical knowledge are also being tested. Without strategic preparation, you could end up spending an enormous amount of time on the broad content and high difficulty level of the 5 subjects.
I obtained a Level 2 Digital Forensics Expert certification in 2022.
My Inflearn course "Digital Forensics from the Basics" achieved a 5.0 rating and 1,900 students in just 9 months.
This course introduces the exam trends for the 5 subjects of the Digital Forensics Expert certification and summarizes key content in an easy-to-understand manner.
For those who purchase the course, we provide additional lectures on study methods for free. In the free lectures, we introduce an overview of the Digital Forensics Expert Level 2 written exam and the characteristics of each subject. We also provide learning strategies for the written exam and specific study methods divided into cases for non-majors and majors.

Generally, to prepare for the exam, you need to study all 5 official textbooks from the testing organization. The total number of pages across all 5 books amounts to an impressive 1,300 pages of content.
"Depot Level 2 Written Exam Core Summary" has collected only the essential content and reduced the study material to 170 pages. We have gathered only the core content so you can pass with this short 170-page textbook. The summary includes only concepts that appear in past exam questions, removing all unnecessary parts and containing only the essential content. Content not found in the official textbook has also been added to the summary if it appears in past exams.
From 5 subjects, we selected only approximately 100 core topics and composed the content with topics that are likely to appear on the exam. Almost all content in the book consists of materials that have appeared or could appear on the exam. It is systematically organized to most efficiently exceed the passing score of 60 points.
We have integrated all 5 sets of past exam questions into one comprehensive summary, making it possible to prepare for the exam with just this single textbook. I am confident that repeatedly studying this one textbook will directly help you pass the exam.
I created the textbook with the idea of "making it easy for non-majors to understand or memorize." I made efforts to provide detailed explanations through comparisons and examples for parts that might be difficult to understand, and for terms that might be hard to memorize, I included English expressions alongside them to make memorization easier.
Non-majors can pass within 1 month, and majors can pass within 1 week.
We introduce the easiest and fastest study method for passing the exam, even for non-majors and those who know nothing about digital forensics.
I am confident that studying with this method will allow you to pass the exam most efficiently. Even non-majors can achieve 100% success within one month using this method. Those who have knowledge of digital forensics or basic knowledge of computer engineering can pass within one week. Study according to this study method and pass in the easiest and fastest way!
Through this course, you can pass the exam and obtain certification. You can not only find employment in the digital forensics field, but also demonstrate expertise across the entire information security field. With certification, you can succeed in both job hunting and career transitions.
Imagine yourselves passing the exam. You will feel proud as a reward for studying hard and passing the exam.
Also, having the certification, you will be much more confident and dignified than before.
Q. What is the difficulty level of the Depot Level 2 written exam?
The difficulty level is extremely high for non-majors to prepare for. In particular, subjects 1-4 (Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Database, and Application Programs) account for 60% of the exam weight, and those without relevant knowledge in these areas sometimes fail due to failing grades (below 40 points). When creating this e-book, the most important aspect I considered was, "What is the minimum knowledge that people without a technical background need to know?" I want to help you study comfortably for this high-difficulty exam.
Q. When is the Level 2 written exam for the Defense Industry Professional scheduled for this year?
The Level 2 written exam is conducted twice a year. It is expected to be held once in the first half of the year (April-May) and once in the second half (October-November). Considering the study period for the exam, we recommend starting preparation about one month in advance. We are currently running a discount event to commemorate the launch of the course. The discount event will end soon, so please hurry and make your purchase!
Q. Where can I use the Dipojeon Level 2 certification?
The Digital Forensics Expert Level 2 certification is the only nationally recognized digital forensics-related certification in Korea. Previously, certifications issued by EnCase were commonly used for job changes and career advancement, but as domestic acquisition of those certifications is no longer possible, the value of the Digital Forensics Expert Level 2 certification continues to rise. Since the exam scope for the Digital Forensics Expert Level 2 certification covers everything from theoretical content to practical work and legal aspects, you can gain recognition for your digital forensics capabilities and receive help with employment and career transitions.
Q. Will the e-book continue to be updated? Can I check the updated content?
The e-book is continuously updated, and you can download the latest version of the e-book through the link on the lecture page. Even if you have previously purchased the e-book, you can continue to download the latest version through the link.

To get straight to the point, I mainly studied with this summary guide, and I passed the written exam, but I think this summary guide has some outdated parts 😭 When I studied with the summary guide and solved past exams (I only got relatively old past exams from before 2019 due to circumstances and only solved those), I thought it was well-summarized as the parts emphasized in the summary guide appeared frequently. Therefore, I went to the exam center having almost memorized the entire contents of the summary guide... But in the 2025 24th exam I took, there was very little content from the summary guide itself, let's say nothing of the content emphasized in the guide... 😭😭 I am a cybersecurity major, so I think I managed to pass by somehow pulling knowledge from the back of my mind, but when I first came out of the exam center, I felt so lost that I thought I would surely fail. If you are a major and already have some knowledge of forensics, I think it's not bad to get a feel for it with this summary guide, with the idea of rebuilding your conceptual framework, but for non-majors to study mainly with this summary guide and quickly pass the written exam just like that, I think this summary guide is now unsuitable...!
Hello! Thank you very much for leaving an honest review, and I apologize. After reading the details you provided in the review and giving it thought, I've decided to renew the e-book. Upon checking, 5 new textbooks were published in 2024, and it seems the overall exam trends have changed accordingly. Since the last update was in August 2023, I also missed the trend. To everyone reading this post, I promise a complete renewal of the e-book by around mid-July. I apologize and thank you.

It's good to be aware of the pros and cons and make an informed purchase. Pros: - The content of a very long textbook is summarized, focusing only on the key points, making it easy to skim through the material in a short amount of time. - It's good for understanding exam trends and predicting frequently asked questions. Cons: - There are many typos and inaccuracies throughout. It doesn't seem like they update the typos promptly. - It doesn't cover 100% of the content that appears on the exam, so you can't get a perfect score by only studying this. You'll still need to buy and study the textbooks created by the Korean Association of Digital Forensics. Overall: It feels like looking at a college student's notes with important points highlighted. If you have no basic knowledge, it's not a bad idea to buy it and take a look.
Hello, thank you for your purchase! Based on the feedback you provided, we are planning to renew it. We will definitely fix typos and accuracy, and significantly improve the overall quality of the textbook. Thank you.
